Welcome to my new and improved Crusader Kings AAR! This game may be ancient, but that doesn't mean it isn't fun! I have CK2, but my computer is a toaster, so I get like 0.0000001 FPS playing it. In this AAR, I will be starting at Hastings, and then I will convert in 1337, historically when the Hundred Years War began. I have installed DVIP for this AAR, which I have actually never tried before. Oh, and by the way, did you know this AAR was inspired by Wiz's Azerbaijan AAR?

Chapter 1. Hastings

Europe, in 1066, is still suffering from the prolonged effects of the era known as the Dark Ages. Everywhere, war was being waged, and peasants were suffering from extreme poverty. Boleslaw 'The Bold' Piast, however, thought he knew why this was happening. He blamed the pagans of the baltic for this Dark Age, and wanted to rout out all pagans who refuse to stop commiting these acts of witchcraft. First, however, he needed somebody who would support him on his campaigns:

He sends a formal request to the nobles of Hungary, requesting marriage with only their most serene courtier:

His request, unfortunately, is declined. However, they offer a treaty of mutual Friendship and Support, which Boleslaw wastes no time accepting it:

He decides he will find a lover later, and will focus on eliminating the Prussians to the north first, to get access to the sea:

He immediately moves his great army into Prussia, easily defeating the poorly trained infidel army:

During the campaign, he often took hunting trips when traveling across the pagan lands, resulting in a strong bond between him and one of his vassals:

A few weeks later, he arrives in the place he names "Wiejski Schronienie" (Rural Retreat, pardon the Google Translate), possibly because it is one of the most beautiful beaches he has ever seen. This is where the infidels make their last stand.

Although the battle was won by the Poles, a general is held ransom. Unable to pay his ransom, the general is executed as a prisoner of war:

King Boleslaw made a harsh retaliation. In September 1067, all of the High Chief's demesne is occupied, and peace is made:

Well, I guess that's the first update! I will see you next update, where things will be done more... diplomatically (also, give some criticism, I found this CK aar pretty hard to make)

Nice start. I never played CK1, so I'll be interested to see some actual gameplay. Thus far, I've only really followed narrative style CK1 AARs.

Good luck with this.
