When playing as an ironborn, I was searching for good targets to raid.
I noticed that ruins are nearly instantly sieged down.
And a couple of them yield a huge amount of loot, for no risk and virtually no effort.

Most ruins are pretty much worthless, but those few that aren't are a gold mine (ex. Old ghis has 2 holdings that give ~170 gold each when plundered)
Is it supposed to be possible to get this amount of gold per 3~5 years from a ruin?

I have just seen this exploit. It is event worst with a slaver: you also get a slave camp and 5 slaves from a random loot event. so it is at least 150 gold if you sell the slaves, plus all the gold you loot. In fact, in my last plythrough I just kept an inept comander leading an small levy systematically sacking ruins with a mercenary fleet (for the extra cargo space). And letting my ruler making babies and counting dragons (golden and otherwise) in my capital. And since the looting income was so high I could even afford NK mode and a permanent mercenary army. Now I'm sistematically conquering the mayor islands in the map, starting with Tyrosh and Lys

Haha no this is obviously not WAD. They'll probably change it during the next patch (it is likely that they didn't think about it before), so for now you could either ignore the exploit or use it for an easier time through the game.

If it helps it, it seems that the more exploitable rouins are those with a high base level (huge eastern cities and castles, and the like). In general, I think the loot could posibly be reduced making special baselevels for ruins with no benefits -or posibly baselevels that are not chained in case that quantity of loot is determine upon number of buildings). The events are all matters of adding more restrictive conditions to them ti fire (salt-wives events, slaves for the camps events and maybe also encounters events in for the ironborn).
