Is there any real reason that the pirate trait still exists, at least in its current form? The -50 opinion for all non pirates seems unnecessary given that there is still religious differences and (if it ever actually occurs) non-pirate vassals of pirates would presumably get wrong government penalties anyway? The only thing I can really think of is the pirate succession, and even then, I think that could probably be redone using some variant of 'elective' succession, now that it is moddable. I feel like many of the same questions could probably be asked of the wildling trait, but I never play wildlings.

I realise this is a fairly trivial complaint, its just that it feels weirdly clunky and out of place to me, like a relic of times past more than anything, so I was just curious as to if there was a specific reason it was still around or whether its more something that just hasn't been touched in a while.

It was there to discourage marriages with non-pirates, and for vassals relations. But you may have a point, I will consider tweaking this a bit.
