I’m using the medium road with monorail tracks as a base for a new road that has an elevated pedestrian running down the middle. I’ve been able to swap out the monorail tracks with a ground level pedestrian path but can’t figure out how to elevate it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I may be able to provide more detailed information if you clarify whether you already have a mesh for said path or not, or you're looking to just make an elevated version of a road you already have.

An elevated pedestrian path fitted to an existing road will require an extra mesh (modeled in a 3D program of your choice) and an extra lane setup in the road editor. Export the road mesh via ModTools and make the necessary changes. Once you have modeled the elevated path to the existing road then reimport it and set up a pedestrian lane with a vertical offset of however high you made your pedestrian path in the edited model.

If you're looking to create an elevated version of this road, then if you don't have an elevated AI on the right as a tab at the top menu, it's likely you've used the wrong road template. Try using a different road that has elevated AI included in its template to begin with (such as the basic road).

Thanks for that, it really narrowed down my questions down to 2. This is my first venture into creating a custom road and I was able to get it in the intersection editor today but still no luck in the road editor. No surprise why. Where can I find an easy to understand guide on making a 3D mesh for the pedestrian path and which 3D modeling program would you recommend from an ease of use stand point?

Sadly there is not a good tutorial on this currently. I hope to make one eventually, but in the meantime, I would take a look at the source files of AmiPolizeiFunk's custom road to see what goes into it. It's the same, more or less, as modeling other assets, if you're familiar with that.

I would suggest Blender 2.8 for usability reasons.
I was just thinking on this and have another question. If I was to use the in game vanilla elevated pedestrian path would I still have to create the new mesh? I've been able to get this far without a new mesh and I was thinking since the pedestrian path is already coded to be elevated and I can add both the node and segment for it as well as it gives me the option to configure the lane offset but no matter what I set that at the path won't elevate. Here is a screenshot of the furthest point I've gotten to without the custom mesh and a rough mock up of what I'm trying to accomplish that I made by taking the elevated monorail lanes off the road and replaced them with the elevated pedestrian path. Even at this point the path won't elevate.

I am going to download Blender 2.8 though so I'll have that if/when I need to go that route. Thanks for your help so far.
