So I don't know if this will be modeled in the planetary structures, but I am hoping we get to chose how are people are housed.

Examples:
Traditional cities - no benefits or maluses
Acrologies - More Pop per, but lower defense in invasion, more likely to be destroyed
Geofronts - Higher defense for planet, fewer pops die during invasions/can hold out longer, but higher unrest/lower population per/ higher cost

What are other people thoughts or hopes for this?

We all want our hive worlds.

You realize that both geofronts and arcologies are meant to be built alongside and as a replacement for traditional cities respectively... right? most likely urban planning will be determined by Pop culture/ideology rather than player design. Can't hazard a guess on how actual buildings will work quite yet.

I'm just hoping for a lot of planet specialization options. I envision heavy agricultural worlds shipping out food to my industrial foundry worlds and hive cities built on regional seats of governmental power.

Is this from anything in particular or is it just from Google? Because this picture is amazing.
I just quickly nipped it from one of the Warhammer 40K wikis, of which there are a few. It's probably on all of them, just look up hive world.
And don't forget to learn about our lord and savior, the God Emperor!
