I have found Windows ME to be more stable than 98. No problems except for a few minor annoyances.

Personally I have been playing with a silly AQ871 whatever name from day 1 even though I knew how to change it. If I had come accross ur query earlier I'd prolly have answered if it wasn't already but I also have stated that I wouldn't care about it. So what ? Is that such an enormous crime ? U can state ur opinion, I can state mine, people are free to state their opinions, no ?
And I really don't see what a dev team of all teams should do about a user airing his opinion

First off, if people ask the question (especially within the FAQ section), then obviously they are looking for a serious answer instead of a snippy response. Not everybody likes to see their save files as their computer's name. It creates a feeling of detachment and unreality in the game, and everytime I've started my game, I'm wondering what the hell is wrong with the game, not me... It simply doesn't looks professional, and as the game gets more and more popular within NA, I think you'll see this question more and more often.
A Graphic User Interface "form tag" or Prompt Box asking for a players name should not be the toughest thing in the world and should be a breeze to implement. Personally, I don't think there should be a whole Dev team sitting back working on bugs... the game should have been released as flawlessly as they could get it, not rush it out the door with various spelling errors, bugs (I mean a bug in the turtorial for Christs' sake), and a manual that reads more like a history textbook rather than a document on game mechanics.
As an amateur game reviewer, I definitely question these shortcomings, but no worries, the game is still great (would you believe I hate RTS?); but mention has to be made to potential buyer's of this game that the lack of intuitive play, and the serious problems users may encounter without having access to this site may seriously hamper immediate gratification and buyer satisfaction. As posters at this forum, it's really hard to imagine people without the internet, but trust me, they're out there, and it's these people that will ultimately suffer from not having good, solid documentation and access to this forum.
That is why it's important for criticism from consumers to be taken gravely, it'll only help the company in the long run if they address concerns as quickly and helpfully as possible. A happy customer is a repeat customer. Frankly, if I bought this game as is... well, put it this way, the game would have been off my hard drive in a flash, and returned promptly. Again, only the online support and the working patches are its' saving grace.
Oh, BTW... as a moderator myself for PCGR.com and VideoGameReview.com, I don't believe it's in good form to be as opinionated as our helpful friend Huszics. We are there to moderate, not confront posters on their queries... My suggestion on that is separate business from pleasure... If you really wish to post topics or suggestions which may not illicit the best response, just do it under a different Username.
Finally, Huszics, I would have got the majority of my questions answered on your webpage, but unfortunately it really doesn't like my machine. Every time I begin to load your page, it crashes my browser, and only a reboot corrects the problem...

OK, name 1 game the last 10 years that did not get patched later on (becaurse it didn't need one, not becaurse crappy support).
As posters at this forum, it's really hard to imagine people without the internet, but trust me, they're out there, and it's these people that will ultimately suffer...
Well, start with telling that to the hardware producers making drivers for their stuff that crashes entire systems. Nowdays, if your not online, your basicly screwed =(

I don't believe it's in good form to be as opinionated as our helpful friend Huszics. We are there to moderate, not confront posters on their queries...

I did NOT confront any questions asked, I just gave my opinion on the matter after several others had chipped in theirs (after the question was both ASKED and ANSWERED in the thread).
If you really wish to post topics or suggestions which may not illicit the best response, just do it under a different Username.
I have ALWAYS used my own (true) name on forums and newsgroups. Thus I also take full personal responsibility for my actions and opinions. Personally I think it's dishonest to try to hide behind some made up name that doesn't reflect your true identity. I also think this is the main reason most forums and newsgroups beeing filled with 15 year old flamers, attaking everyone left and right, simply becaurse they can get away with it.
Obviously we do not share the same view on this, Mr SuicidesbySteve (?)
My suggestion on that is separate business from pleasure

If your using a v 3.x browser or any of the myriade of NS4.x browsers available, it's time to upgrade. IE 4-5.5, Mozilla, Opera etc all work (though some better then others =) without hardlocking.
