Lo there,

I have manged to include bretagne as a playable nation either as a vassal of france once or as an independant nation in my struggle to get this to damn well work. I ended up downloading raziz alternate western european thing and it could be played but i hated having france as small as that with england all over the shop. I therefore modify the provinces numbers held by france and england and it simply doesnt work :(

I am desperate to play bretagne without the game crashing so please please help. If you can modify and mail me a 1492.inc file i would be extremely grateful.

If you can send it to baston@ntlworld.com.

I'd also like to ask a question. Whats the difference between controlled, owned and national provinces... i am quiet happy about the first two but the national provinces is kinda confusing... i cn only assume its something to do with revolting to form a new nation if that nation is ever annexed prior?

Why don´t You just download IGC 1.7? It has Bretagne in there from the start. :) When having installed the IGC, all You have to do is load 'Any Country.eug' into wordpad, exchange the tag NIP with BRI, save and start the game with the scenario 'Any Country'.

What Hartmann said.

National provinces are the provinces with ur shield on it on the political map. U get a CB for them as they're considered ur core provinces. They also don't have the nationlist revolt risk when u capture them.

Thanks for d/ling my scenario! If you really want to play Brittany, it is probably easiest to simply go into the 1492alt.inc file, copy the whole Brittany section(It is right near the bottom, if not the bottom of the file), and then paste it to your 1492.inc file right at the bottom. That way you only have to remove those 3 provinces from the France info rather than the large group you would have to remove from my file. Once you have done all this editing, make sure you save as something other than the 1492.inc file.

It affects your relations with other powers, mainly. It gives you a casus belli against another nation if they own your national provinces, or gives them one if you own one of theirs. I believe it also has an effecy on badboy ratings, in that you get less of a negative rating for taking a province from a country when it is one of you national provinces.

Oh, and btw, Im not sure if you know or not, but you cant just edit these 3 lists to change province ownership. U also have to scroll down farther and either remove or add the province listing. Here is an example:

city = { fortress = { level = 2.000000 }
population = 8000
location = 240
capital = yes
}

You have to remove these from the country you are taking it from, and add it to the province you are giving it to. Notice that here you can also edit the size of the city and fort from here, and whether it is a capital or not (to change capital status, just remove the capital line and give it to another province) Anyways, I hope this helps you somewhat. Good luck!
