Well,

I had thoughts about running my beloved Paradox games on a tablet, but it now appears that this was nothing more than delusions of grandeur.... So, I am now looking into the idea of a laptop.

My question now is, can my games (CKII, EUIII, VicII, HoI3) run on a laptop with an Intel HD Graphics 4000 adapter?

I've been a solid Paradox gamer since 2003, and haven't owned a desk-top in all that time - they're just too big to carry around if you want to live the expat life-style. Lap-tops all the way.

I've ordered my HP Laptop which is using a 3rd generation Intel Core i5-3230M Processor. This runs up to 3.2GHz.

I am pretty confident that the CPU won't be the issue.
Your laptop sounds just fine. How much RAM does it have?

This. A laptop with integrated graphics is nothing more then a slightly upgraded calculator.
No, the HD 4000 is actually pretty decent, it's able to keep up with the low end AMD laptop graphics. It's just fine for Paradox games and Civ 5.

8 Giggle Bites! Should be enough.

This is what I am hearing as well. The HD 4000 was running some pretty robust games on YouTube just fine, so I think my games will be ok as well.

There are tablets out there that can run Paradox games. I have an Acer Iconia and it runs CKII and Vicky 2 just fine. Vicky slows down a bit towards endgame, but it's still playable enough for me. And CKII crashes when I spend more than 10 seconds on the bride searching window, but that's a software issue and quite recent...sure wish I knew how to fix that.

At any rate, it's been my experience that the real limit for Paradox games isn't video, it's CPU.

The one who started this thread, did that to inform us that he bought a decent computer...

I just bought Warcraft 2 can I play it with windows 7? please answer me, I am so desperate!

On my laptop, i have 4Gb Ram and GMA4500 intel intergrated graphics. Your card is like 5x times better than mine, but EU3 works fine, even with heavy mods. Exept that when i fully zoom out, the maps scrolling starts to lag.

@Dantes
You should post your specs for people to help you.

I have Lenovo with 2.6Ghz i5 with a pretty poor integrated graphics card. It runs the games with no issue if I don't use the terrain mapmode but thats the least of my worries. It does tend to get a bit hot after an extended session however.
