That's a fascinating, if biased, alternative history of the Cold War.

Will you be playing as Space Communists? How did the globe evolve? A single world government or just joint programs?

Thus begins extrasolar exploration!

If the Americans are "private" in their space exploration, why does the government benefit from it at all? Shouldn't the profits go to companies or individuals?

Will India begin their own space empire later?

What might Socialist Earth discover in the greater cosmos? Who might they ally with? Who will become their enemies?

That's a nice backstory for the Commonwealth of Man. What will the new government of Earth due about them at Second Contact?

Will Alpha Centauri III be your first colony?

I wonder who will make First Contact with these humans...

The Cybrex are your precursor, huh? Will that lead to more... wariness... of aliens, given that they attacked biological life? Or will that stigma apply to the creation of possible robots on Earth?

A colony would help cement your status as an interstellar empire. It's harder to seize control over a colony than it is to take a small space station.

@BrazilianGuy1992 I'm through the prologue and starting with chapter 1 (which may mean I'm almost caught up). Great detail here!

And an interesting twist on history. This alternative history - is it true history or propagandistic history? Like are your socialists/communists really as nice as they say or is it just the official history? Or is it meant to be vague? :)

Anyway fascinating stuff. It reminds me of something I read not long ago - a world where the Soviets prevailed - but I can't put my finger on it.

I was in college and took a Soviet Politics class at a really interesting time in 1990 (ironically by a Dr. Adelman, no relation to the diplomat) when the professor had two organization charts on the whiteboard say the beginning of class. He said "this is how the USSR government was organized 2 weeks ago, and this is how it's organized today." He used to joke about the USSR and how they're always bragging about how they have the biggest this and biggest that in the world. He said the USSR has the biggest microchips in the world! Lol

Congrats on creating a colony! Humankind has now truly expanded into the stars.

Also, you encountered two pre-sapient species in... how many systems have you explored? What are the chances of that?

Very low. On the whole, this has the potential to be one of the strongest starts to a playthrough I've seen in a while. Two sets of pre-sapients so early on will open the door to a lot of possibilities.

Great work!

Why do I have the feeling you're going to run into the capitalists once you've done some more exploring? :D

Why didn't you uplift the Khell'Zen? Especially since that would make them your vassals?

Will you try to restore the gateway? It could prove useful later.

This spying on the Khell-Zen should prevent them from becoming a threat.

I'm curious about those aliens in Hoshfir. Maybe they'll be advanced and friendly? How would the paranoid government of Earth react to that?

I've just managed to catch up and I'm really loving this story!
I love all this early space colonization going on but I'm curious to see how Socialist ideals will change when faced with sapient aliens. Should the revolution be spread to them as well? Or will socialist imperialism take over against the xenos?

It's nice that the colonies get a bit more recognition.

Let's hope that Earth (and Colonies) can explore more of the galaxy with impunity. It would be a shame if they faced... opposition to their noble mission.
