In Total war medieval they have Stockholm as the castle, town whatever, and that means Stockholm is in their early campaign, but Stockholm was founded in 13-1400-century so plz no Stockholm in 1066:)
"But what should we have instead of Stockholm?"
Well we could have Uppsala, Sigtuna and why not Birka:D
Just a thought

First sighting of Stockholm is actually 1252 and it status then is already important enough that Birger Jarl when he writes letters in the kings name states that the letters are written in Stockholm. That time is also when the trade agreements with Lübeck are made, giving Stockholm a chance to grow.

But 1066 is a tad early for a city.. Sigtuna would probably be much better if they are in the same province..

The problem with choosing Birka is that its importance declines so rapidly after 1066 that it perhaps could be a problem for the engine to handle a namechange later on. Most of "gamla staen" in Stockholm is dated back to the 12th century so if they have to choose then rather Stockholm than Birka (though a Vikingage game with Birka in would be nice ;) ).

edit: mod, feel free to delete. somehow I posted in the wrong thread

edit2: or not, it seems it was the right thread after all, just that Havard made a few changes between when I started the post and when I actually posted it. ;)

Anachronistic/eurocentric/dominated by dead white european males...

Can someone tell me why a number of messages come out blank for me and can't be easily read read even through colouring it in? For example, teh current first message is a grey space and if I click and drag within teh space I get fleeting views. Is it me?

EDIT: Crud, I post a message and it appears. Stupidly I click and it disappears.

Sometimes you have to wait a little longer and let the page just scroll by itself...

Philj, this is a problem that I think is related to the new design of the Forums. It happens to me all the time. Just scroll once more over your message :)
