Please help

Hey, i just got hearts of iron platinum edition and i have two questions;

First, what is CORE and what is it used for

Second, i try to use valkyrienet and everytime i try i enter a channel but no one is in any of the channels.

Welcome to HOI!

CORE is a add on project to HOI that was started by some wonderful folks many moons ago.

CORE adds alot of historical and technological changes to Vanilla HOI (That is the term used to describe HOI without any modifications to it).

I highly recommend that you take a look at CORE once you have fully learned the Vanilla version of HOI. It will take you into a very historical version of how WW2 was fought with many (that is an understatement) historical events to consider and participate in.

Hats off again to all those involved in the CORE project, their efforts are greatly appreciated by myself (and if i may be bold enough to say) and by others.

p.s there is going to be a new version of the game HOI2 coming out in a few months -- check it out!

as for the valkyrienet, i don't thinnk i'm connecting, b/c no one is ever in the channels...can you guys help?

You have to be connected to V-net to choose a channel, so *yes* you are connected!
Try looking for other players during the weekends + check out threads in the MP forum. Maybe there are games going that needs a sub(stitute).

Ya, but for some reason i think i'm not actually connected, there is never anyone on. How do you guys connect to valkyrienet?

Stupid Netgear

Nvm, now the the people come up, but i can't connect to games. I went onto my admin settings for my router, but your directions can't help me because i have netgear which doesn't have some of the options you described. Is anyone familiar with netgear, and if so, can you tell me how to take down my firewall.

Did you have the same version of HOI with hosts of the games you
tried to connect to?
