One thing I noticed in EU5's 3D map showcase is the noticeable lack of detail in the roads (and rivers), it only shows up as a thin line when zoomed in that's pretty hard to make out especially compared to other Paradox games like I:R or Vic3. In those games, roads stood out clearly on the terrain even when zoomed out and it added depth and texture to the map and enhancing the overall look of the 3d map. The absence of that detail in EU5 feels like a real step back, I hope future iterations of the 3D map bring back more visible roads and possibly rivers too, they really added a lot, even if they may not be mechanically essential.

Well you chose screenshots of EU5 from 1337 when there's not a lot of roads built yet.

This is a post Johan made a while ago where he shows the difference between 1337 and 1829:

I see, thanks for the link. From what I’ve seen, the roads looks a bit too dark and thin, and they tend to blend into the political borders, which makes them hard to distinguish. I’d love to see them take a brighter and defined approach similar to how roads looked in Imperator: Rome, since it'd be better for readability plus imo just looks better
