i just installed CORE yesterday, and had fun playing it and all, but...

i'm kinda lost in everything concerning the navy (kriegsmarine, to be more precise :D )...

can someone give some advice?

firs of all, i notices that fleets are to be bigger...
what would be the equivalent of a destroyer flotilla from vanilla in CORE?

what would be the equivalence of fleets?
i mean, waht would be the CORE equivalent of a fleet like that:
6 carrier
6 light cruiser
6 destroyer flotilla

finally...
will building time of bigger ships be shortened?

A flotilla in HOI is about 6 ships.
My CTF in a CORE game ussually consists of:

3 CV
2 CA
3 CL
8 DD

I might add a CV later in the game when more come available.
Why should building times be shortened?

so i should understand that i should replace each DD from hoi2 with 6 CORE DD?

just because they are eternal!!

i mean... 1000 days for a carrier?!?!?! this is much time...

1000 days for a carrier is realistic. And for players it forces you to plan ahead, far ahead. So, as Germany, if you want carriers you'll need to begin researching them immediately in 1936 and gear your economy to producing them (or any other capital ships besides those you get via event) -- at the expense of not doing other things. Tough, realistic choices. Does this make the game harder? You bet. Is it a good thing? Absolutely. Much better than the ridiculous things you can do in Vanilla with the German economy.

Just to answer one of the original points :-

All ships of Light Cruiser size and up represent 1 vessel in both vanilla & CORE.

In Vanilla, DD & SS units are flotillas, of 5 vessels each.

in CORE, DD & SS units are individual, named, vessels.

So if you wanted to replicate your vanilla force of 6 CV, 6 CL 6 DD Flotillas, in CORE you would need 6 CV, 6 CL & 30 DD.

Hi,

While the initial build times are quite long there are a number of things you can do to shorten them. Making the proper Slider moves has a big effect on completion times. Also the Military Recovery techs help a lot as well. Finally, most of the Assemblly techs have some impact on Naval construction. this can all substantially shorten production times, thoguh it still will never be as fast as it was in Vanilla. My advice is too be very careful about losing ships and to maintain a reserve of units to cover any losses, especially for the DD/TP.

Not to mention the shipbuilding industry techs in the later years...
