..... about multiplayer games?

How do they work?

e.g I am sitting at home with my 1.3a version of HOI2 on my laptop; I have broadband but how do I get connected to another game?

Do we all have to start at the same time?

How do we decide at whjat speed the game goes?

Is there anyway of contacting allies (or foes?)

How are the games saved and reloaded?

Cheers,

OT

They work like a normal SP, but in Multiplayer your opponents are humans.

You can connect to a game using V-Net, but that is down during the holidays. You could alternatively use this forum to setup a game or try this forum xsorbit

Yes, the game has to be played at the same time.

The speed is determined by the host, but you can make arrangements on this. Speed also depends on the connections of all players and their computers.

You can contact Allies through chat (use Tab). There you can also talk to all other players.

Games are saved just as in SP. Normally the host saves the games, and then loads the game through clicking on it when a new game is hosted. You then just load the game as well.

At the moment vnet (the medium to connect mp games) is down - there is a link of a chat stickied on the first page of the mp forum (right at the top) so you can temp. meet up.

Yes you have to start the game at the same time. The speed is determined by the host. There is an ingame chat (use tab to activate it). Game are saved and loaded just like in sp .
