We are now seven german EU fans, who played EU Multiplayer the last three sundays.We started with three players, then five ... in this constellations the game was somewhat buggy, but we did play 3-5 hours straight without a crash.
But last sunday we tried seven players and it was horrible : a crash every 20 minutes or so and the badest thing -> the save file must be send from the host to every client after a crash, because the 'autoload' is a way too slow (we had tried it once -> over one hour loading time !) :(

Perhaps Johan can fix this... the save files should be stored at the clients too, not only at the host PC !

Hope the best for EU, but in the moment I think Multiplayer is hardly playable !!!

If I remember right, there was one 56k Modem and the rest had ISDN connections.

btw.: we installed both at the clients ... the'multiplayer.eug' file and the 'multiplayer.eug.cfg' file from the host.

Perhaps this is one of the problems ?
Is it not needed to intall the cfg-file ?

When we start the save games, the options from EU at the client PCs were often reseted. Any idea how we can use our own Eu-configurations (sound,music, messages etc.), if we play with a sent savefile ?

The cfg file is the options file.. You dont need to send it over to other players.

56k sounds a bit too slow though.-

We will play today again and resume our GC, hoping the game will be more stable without a 56k modem connection.

I will report you from our 'Testing' results ;)

P.S.: Is there any logfile, we could send to you, Johan, if the multiplayer game crashes again ???
 
*hmm*, today we played with six players and there was one 56k Modem connection.

It was more stable than last sunday, we crashed only once every hour.

But its a fantastic game, so we loaded it over and over again ;)

Very annoying too was the 'siege bug' !
Everytime, when there was a siege going on and the game crashed, after reloading the multiplayer savefile ALL the fortresses were at full strength (manpower and Fortresslevel !!!)

Lost more than 150 k troops thru this bug !!!

A new serious bug we encountered : all random events occured five times !!!
Deadly if it was the 'increased revolt risk in your homelands' event.

Nice was the 'auto' loan bug from our 'England' player : he had 400 Dukats cash and then there was a new loan taken automatically five times !!!
( he had lots of cash after this, but inflation increase and interest payments werent very funny for him ;) )

Hope you can eliminate many bugs with your next patch version,
