most annoying thing of DD (after ghost ships, but thats a glitch) is the fact that Transport seem to think they can win battles!
I'll give you the scenerio which sparks this critique/rant. As Italy i have had control of the Med for about 3-4 years (by that i mean i hold suez & gibralta, and have a significant navel fleet stationed in crete) now oil is short as it always is so for the last 2 years my navel fleet has sat in port having swept the Med. And if you see what is going to happen then.....12 transports fully loaded making the run back from spain with troops for the middle east/indian front, ambushed by 5 french subs which apparently are fully org. supplied, and have been waiting somewhere for 4 years! The transports took them on and when i went to check their progress to italy found only 3 remaining.
WHY cant there be an option to retreat if engaged!? especially for transport on 'sea transport' mission. It is unrealistic that the transport would stay and fight (with what?) and it isnt realistic to have to keep watch of every tranport movement whilst frighting battles accross africa and asia (especially in such a close off sea as the Med was in the example before)
Please sort this i get cuaght by it atleast 1 every few years and it really really p!55e5 me off!!
