I would say Antioch, but only with some limitations as it is too easy to just gain huge swaths of lands from muslims.
How about limiting yourself to one kingdom area per 100 game years? from 1066-1166 you can only have the land of one kingdom, then you can go for a second and at 1266 go for a third. Plus then you would have a good size for when you transfer to the next game as opposed to some giant empire that would just roll everything easymode.

And playing as the Byzantines is just like cheating as you get the stupid 2x demense bonus. :p

Georgia sounds interesting to me.

Victory for Antoich

On a side note I agree with magmaniac 1 Kingdom per 100 years though that might get boring. Oh well

Maybe, but you get the idea. Some kind of limitation should be set or it's too easy. :p And more difficult game means more enjoyable AAR. Perhaps expanding unlimitedly but have to use Elective or Gavelkind succession laws.

Good choice :)

1066 AARs got old - you spend 20-30 years struggling, then all your foes are destroyed and you build a mega empire. Giving you 30 years of exciting times and another 360 years of empire playing. Which players VERY rarely manage to finish, for playing an empire leads to boredom and abandoned AARs.

1187 AARs are much rarer in the forums, so it's great to see one. Especially in an exciting region like the crusading middle east! :)
