I've got Imperator Rome running on both my Windows 10 boot and my Ubuntu 18.04 boot and it's quite apparent that it's running far worse on Ubuntu. On Windows 10 I:R runs at a solid 60 frames per second but on Ubuntu it can barely get past 20. Other paradox games work fine on my Linux installation. I've got graphics set to the lowest on both, at 1920x1080 Borderless Fullscreen.

I've got an Intel Core-i7 6700HQ CPU, an nVidia Geforce GTX 960M, and 8GB RAM. Any help?

Aside from the frame rate, do you see other symptoms of poor performance? Slow loading, video stuttering, slow time passing? All of these?

I assume this does not affect your other PDS games I see there?

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/Imperator/pdx_settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/Imperator/logs/ folder, attach system.log .

Also in Steam please click on Steam-Help-System Info, and paste everything there into a text file and attach that here.

I'll get on that. I switched to my integrated graphics out of curiousity and I got much better performance. 60 FPS zoomed out and 30FPS zoomed in. Also, I'm using GOG, what logs should I be using instead of the steam ones?

No idea, sorry. All that does is give a summary of the hardware, OS and drivers in use. Hopefully GoG have some similar facility.

That of course makes no sense. What driver are you using for the nVidia?

Great to hear, all the best!
