Hi,

I just purchased VV. I immediately noticed that the majority of provinces now have 0 or 1 citizens. In vanilla Rome this was not the case. For example, i started as Achaea in VV and i had one citizen. I looked around Greece and the only province that started with more than 1 citizen was Argolis.

This obviously has a huge effect on research. Is that WAD? Is it a bug?

If other players read this, could you check your game and see if you have the same problem? I have seen threads on the main board asking about research oddities and this may be the cause.

thanks,
Mike

oops

No, i was wrong, reinstalling did not help. Different provinces have no, or almost no citizens. Both of the games are from Gamersgate, i did clean installs both times.

confirmed bug

Confirmed and reproducable.

Start a game with a bookmark, everything is fine.

Now, start a game in 484 or whatever date. Look around at the more populous provinces; you will see that population distribution is wrong in many provinces with the most obvious being citizens numbers. I installed these games on my wife's computer which has never had either Rome or VV on it, and i received the exact same error.

If you start in 484 i found Ager Brutius and Tarentum (among others) to have no citizens. And yes, i checked the history files, there is no change to distribution listed in the files.

Wad?

Okay, seemingly this is WAD. Every time you capture a province ALL of it's citizens are lost. I am not sure what twisted universe Paradox lives in, but this is wrong. I have no problem with a drop in both Citizen and Freeman to Slaves but nowhere near this drastic.
