If your ruler is old and sick, you can abdicate, which doesn't take into account active loans.

1. Take a loan (in my case 400 gold)
2. Spend the money on castles and bitches
3. Abdicate due to poor health (Infirm in my case)

Now the loan is bound to the previous ruler and the new one has a clean loan history and can take a new one.
In my case, the former ruler also became a monk, so the loan-givers aren't getting anything.

Loan should transfer in a maintenance event within a year. If it doesn't it's a bug.

Nope, didn't get that event. The former ruler also died sometime after abdicating (not sure how long) and when I looked at his profile, the loan was gone. I'm not completely sure, but several years have passed and I would've noticed if I had to repay 500 gold back (since my ruler is not that rich and so much money disappearing would not go unnoticed)

How about the exploit where you search for rich males who are willing to come to your court (using search menu). I found several chars with 100-400 ducats each; invited them; kidnapped them; threw them in jail; banished them, and then got to keep all their ducats.
Particularly after 10-15 years into the game when some of the characters particularly the Lords start to accumulate some serious ducats only to get robbed MUHAHAHA!!! ;}
