That's my Opinion, anyway we talk about a Event wich was worth some kind of Money and i took it seriously ..... They announced a Event with clear Rules and the result has not matched with the Rules.
All the winners deserve it therefore I congratulated them in the Event Thread. But it had nothing to do with the task.
I spend many time to create the perfect Screen of my Fortress which was meant for the event and when i checked the winner i couldn't see the winning Screenshots (to compare it with my own) nor the reason why they won the event, just a link to their Thread.
One of the winners did not even tried to make some Screens without the UI, it was simply decided to sympathy and not for performance. The Delay to announce the winners just says everthing.
Hope you take the next Events more serious altough i won't participate on it.

Jesus H. Christ on a Crutch, Meg. You're making me wish I hadn't already redeemed my prize code so I could give it to you and shut you up.
The reward wasn't money, okay? It was Magicka. Which can be a fun little game if you have one or more person to play it with, but can be dull, tedious, frustrating and hair-pullingly difficult if you haven't. Ultimately, it's just another game, another time waster. It's not like they sailed up to my house in a Dwarven longboat and showered me in gold coins or something. For one thing, I would have had to claim it as income and pay tax on it if they had, which I don't, since they didn't.
It was just a quick little forum competition to drum up some interest in a sweet, but sadly not-very-largely-known, video game.
@BjornB: I hope that whatever you do in the future, you take more large narratives! I really had fun 'walking' the free look mode through my fortress and snapping screenshots everywhere. I'm already planning to do it again, too, so... Gonna show off the bedroom set, hopefully.

And the reward wans't just "Magicka" it was a full Collection of Magicka with all dlc's wich is worth more than 34 euro and that's a nice amount of Money/Value to trade for other Games.

At present exchange rates, that's just under $45.

Megge, you are the reason why companies don't do cool contests like this anymore, and when they do, they get the legal department to draft up a huge terms & conditions contract that would take up five pages of 10-point single-spaced paper and other bullshit like that. "I'm sorry, I've been acting selfishly and jealously. I was upset that I didn't win the contest, but I had as fair a shake as anyone else, so it's wrong of me to spoil the good nature of this forum by lashing out with baseless accusations and bitter, snide comments, especially in threads which don't need any comment whatsoever."
Seriously, you're acting like a jerk, and if this forum had a "report post" button, I'd be using it for that.

ShadowDragon, everyone has their own opinion and that's good. I knew i'm not going to make new friends with my statement but I'm in the habit of saying what I think.
Now that I'm playing Magicka here and there, I'm honestly really glad that the people that won weren't just planning to trade it off for some kind of profit.
It's a bit difficult on single player, but I'm really loving all the jokes and modern references in it. I never would have thought all that was in there.

There is no reason to start a Event without instructions and rules, specialy if it was not properly rated. If i prefer gambling i go to the Casino and don't participate at an Event to compare with the best.
E: And btw , where is the mighty Screenshot of all the 3 Guys that won

Stop being a whining little brat, stop spoiling the nice atmopshere on these forums, or at least have the decency to go away and whine about it to the Goons or something. Go find somewhere people care and will agree with your crying because the contest didn't go your way and will demonize the big bad forum mods and game developers for choosing someone else instead of you and lionize you for your heroic attempts to stick to your guns of "I only wanted it to be fair abloo bloo bloo!" in the face of failure.

I'd like you to ask Steam to bill me for the whole Magicka pack I unlocked - I'll pay for it all, even though I already owned Magicka and quite a few of the DLCs, though not all of them, - and you can award the contest win to Megge, if it'll just shut him the hell up.
I don't have a job, and no way to easily replace the $44 bucks, but you know what? It will be worth it to shut Megge's nonsense up.

Actually, unlike many forums, the Paradox forums have an ignore feature.
You do not need to listen to people who only increase your blood pressure. =P
And unlike many forum, this one apparently doesn’t have Mods that know that they need to step in and put an end to this childish, off topic, borderline hateful chatter.

This is generally a peaceful place and that doesn't just happen. Moderators always have something to do with it. =P
Moderators can't fix feelings of entitlement, though.
The ignore feature here (never used it before) works extremely well. It hides the entire post, not just the content. Unless you like the argument, there is no reason why you shouldn't remove a certain person from your sight... and live happily ever after.
