The proud kingdom of Bulgaria. Highest income in the world due to 12 Demesne and 28 Stewardship king. 3rd highest army in the world. Started as count of Dorostrum :)

Question?

What is it to bragg for 12 demesnes and 28 stewardship? As Di Canossa ruler, I never have less than 15 demesnes (that is what a new ruler is installed) and usually have over 40 in stewardship!

Unless you limitate yourself, the plot : save 500 ; will quickly boost that stat!

Maybe his king has it mostly naturally and didn't exploit the shat out of something that clearly needs to be fixed?

My Kingdom of Ireland, Brythonia (formerly Wales), and Scotland grew bigger when the old king's youngest son succeded him after all his other sons died and his son, was the heir to Denmark. Now this son is king of all 4 kingdoms and has reigned over 30 years ( he was a kid when he rose to the throne). There is one Grand Dutchess that is really gonna rebel one of these days and i have used assassins to a large part to keep it under control.

That's funny I don't recall paying you money for this game that I want to enjoy my own way. Odd.

But my screenshot in here was achieved without any of those, just saying

Just wish people would mention these sorts of things when posting about their big successes. Others feel the same, distorts the perception of how (un)challenging this game is

Wow, things just went extreme. The HRE emporer died. I don't know if it plays a role, but I voted along with all but two dukes for the next emporer, the dead emporers son. I immediatly set my voting to myself and somehow many dukes followed my lead, so I was appointed emporer. Well, let's say I helped the young emporer with his burden and made it a little lighter. (Took 200 gold to do so, one failure, one wound, one crippled and one hit, each without being discovered. Phew.)

So my 82-year old duke suddenly is emporer of the HRE. Before I get the chance to sort my new stuff, the duke of Bavaria does something stupid, I don't even remember which crime it was, but it gave me reason to imprison him. Since he was kinda greedy and powerful (about as powerful as I was with Saxony before fun stuff started happening), I tried to imprison him, he got away and started a rebellion.

Well, I raised all my armies, gave them orders to march for bavaria, unpaused the game and .... a 2nd rebellion started rightaway. So I divert armies, but every couple of days another ally joins this second rebellion. After a month or so I fight a war against Bavaria (with no allies) and half of the HRE. Then my king dies (remember 82-years old and somehow my son gets the job. And it took this long for me to realize that I got too many duchies for my vassal to like me - they gave me a -60 modifier. So I pause, sort through my remaining vassals and give those non-greedy, content, german, catholic ones with only one title a duke each until the modifier is gone.

So now I fight against bavaria and half the HRE with half the HRE, all of my vassals like me and I am winning slowly. Then some arab guy comes up and claims Alexandria. Well, duh, I own Alexandria?!? WTF? I immediatly pull the white flag, give him his desired country. Can't fight the muslims and half my own empire at the same time.

Now, I will concentrate on Bavaria, get the original idea of taking a title from that guy done and then face the other rebellion. I feel it will be a while until I stabilize this. FUN!

Oh, yeah, btw, the duchy of Alexandria is in central Germany now. Get used to it. oO

P.S.: No reloading or the kind. The 80 year old guy got rich several times, but that's it with questionable tactics.

German for Catholic.
Greetings to my fellow countrymen. Must say, German translation still sucks sometimes. Has to be improved, please!

Greetings back. And I wholeheartedly agree! Please improve the German translation, especially the gamebreaking translation error (or so I presume) when being offered a marriage: The game always says it will be a matrilinear (or however it is called) marriage even if the one offered was regular.

I get being snippy about cheating and the like..but mods? Chill out. Let people post what they want to post, I'm sure if somethings actually wrong a moderator will step in. You have no reason to be condescending towards other players just because they enjoy the game a different way than you do.

He is playing pagan Sweden, so he mostly can only marry pagans. (Cumars and Mongols make the only good alliances.)

@NezzeOne: How did you start as the Duke? I couldn't select him because he is pagan. I had started as the King of Sweden and let my children get educated by this duke.

The mod I was playing, CK2Plus, lets you start off as non-Christians.

I'm the Queen of Poland and Croatia

Started off as Poland. King Boselow 'The Bold' of Poland expanded into the lands of the Prussians. His son King Kazimierz 'The Dragon' repeatedly destroyed the armies of Hungry and secured territory for himself and his wife the Queen of Croatia. The crowns of Croatia and Poland were united by King Boselow 'The wise'. His daughter, Queen Dagas 'The Cruel' secured the families holdings in Poland and Croatia. The Dynasty is going to end with Queen Dagas though. :(

OH YES, this was the reason i lost my first round

Queen Ermengard.jpg
I don't have a screenshot of my 'empire', but this girl is largely responsible for it not getting destroyed.

Her grandfather made a poor decision and married one of his daughters to the English royal family. Of course, being King of Wales (and Ireland and Scotland, obviously), he was in a position where he pretty much had to do that to stay on top of the civil war wrecking his nation.

Guess what happened in the next generation? Of course they declared war -- they had the claims for it, after all. His daughter -- now Queen -- put up a valiant fight but got assassinated from someone in her own court (you'd think they'd be smart enough to not murder their queen when the English are knocking on the door?). Her daughter, only 12 at the time, took it upon herself to cleanse the royal family of England of any claimants to her titles. 20 assassinations later and her piety's at -400, but the Kingdom is safe. She died soon after, obviously, and her uncle took over. It was at the civil war following his succession that some duke in Scotland declared himself king. He managed to rule for all of 10 years before the true king had destroyed the last stronghold of the rebels, and then reclaimed his King title. Somehow the duke of Albany had -- through a whole lot of marriages, I presume, managed to become a super duke, with power to almost rival his King's. Let's just say that a few years after the rebellion ended he didn't have anywhere near the same amount of titles. The Kingdom is stable once again, and it's turning its eyes toward the English -- their heinous deed has gone unpunished for too long.

This game's been crazy -- the English were wrecked by civil war and split up in three different fiefs. I supported their civil war to lower crown authority, obviously. England's weakened, and my current king has the support of the nobility. Time to go to town, as it were.

Started as Duke of Polostk (5 county duchy w/ basically no buildings/ level 0 tech), went on a lot of conquering sprees/holy wars and died a lot with some of the worst rulers I've seen. From the bloody messed emerged the Kingdom of Rus in 1103 and a new golden age of the Rurikids dynasty as Kings of Rus/Lithuania, right after they finish killing each other off that is.

ck229.gif

From the Black Sea to the Barent Sea, this land is Rus! I don't have much desire to continue as it would only end in a WC. SS is from 1109.

Well one thing is for sure, the Rurikids are assasination happy, I've never seen so many failed attempts and I think everyone of my rulers died to a successful one, except one who caught pneumonia. After becoming King there was over 10 discovered attempts on my life inside of the first month.

By trial and error do you mean saving and reloading?

No i played straight no matter what -- At one point my family was almost extinct and i only had one male heir who was a cousin to my queen. They married and continued my line today. I even hed one of my kings murdered by the former pope when we caught the assasin. On my next game i'll play the same way but more smarter.
