Please , can someone tell me if I can play in Cities Skylines? I do not know much about computers...
IntelCore i7 4700MQ 8CPU 2,40 GHz
Nvidia GeForce GT 740M 2GB
RAM: 8GB

Thanks!

Hi,
My laptop has the following specs:
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 460 @ 2.53GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 420M
RAM: 4GB
OS: Win 7 64 bit

Will I be able to run the game? At any quality whatsoever? I'm not going to be buying a new computer anytime soon, so if the game will be unplayable, I won't bother buying it.

Unlikely. 420M is barely better than integrated graphics. It actually benchmarks worse than the Iris integrated graphics from the poster above.

Will my computer work?
Processor: 1.023 MHz MOS Technology 6510
Graphics: VIC-II (320 × 200)
RAM: 128 bytes

I recently upgraded my processor from the 6507 in anticipation of Cities Skyline! So excited!

I am not showing off.. I am unsure if I need to upgrade the RAM as well?

Possibly. The processor is good and the Iris is pretty good (Any Intel i5 is usually good for gaming) as far as integrated graphics go... it's still terrible though. But as far as I can see cities skylines has very modest graphics requirements so with settings at minimum it should be playable.

Unlikely. RAM is rarely an issue :p Although we finally have a game here which can use more than 4 GB of RAM :D

Thanks. I think I'll just leave it be then. No point upgrading just for the sake of it.

The real proof will be how it plays when its released. If I cant run a major city I'll have to look into upgrading whatever is causing the problem.

Pretty sure I not going to have too many problems :)

Hi there, here a my laptop's specs:

Model: HP ENVY 17 Notebook PC
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4700MQ CPU @ 2.40 GHz (8CPUs)
GPU: Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600
RAM: 8 GB

I would like to be able to build large cities encompassing all nine playable tiles, but I am not planning on using anymore than the base of nine. I am on a very tight budget and would prefer not to buy a desktop computer unless it is absolutely necessary. I am also willing to play on the minimum settings if necessary. If anybody thinks these specs won't allow me to actually play the game decently, then are there any ways to do so without buying a new computer?

Thanks

for people with intel HD graphics and graphics cards like 520 or 420 I think you may end up with a bad experience. I think the best thing is to wait for the game to come out and ask back on the forum if someone who has a similar machine can try the game (some people have gaming PCs/and a 2nd non-gaming one).

So.. This is a brilliant thread. So far we have learned, that people who have computers that match the minimun requirements should be able to run the game and that people who dont, might not be able to. Two thumbs up.

The thread was more for those in doubt to post their specs, and fellow forumites would estimate whether the game would run or not. Speaking of which, anybody know if my specs would run the game efficiently?

Thanks for the feedback :)

looks good to me, processor may be overkill

As far as upgrading a laptop goes, it's almost always impossible unless it's a very expensive laptop.

guess i need to upgrade my com64 too, i think it still only has 64k of memory

i might do this if i get the game, i have a desktop rig i primarily use for gaming but i do have a intel hd graphics laptop i take when i travel, its surprising what they can actually play - it played skyrim fairly well. i know at one point the intel 3000 hd didnt support directx11 but it does now. maybe ill contact Toshiba and ask if there is a way i can modify its dedicated ram somehow, since i cant in the bios.

basically this is what i remember about it.... that the memory allocated to Intel HD Graphics is not directly related to performance. Intel HD Graphics can use up to 1.7GB of shared system memory for graphics needs, so if the game is not hard coded to require a certain amount of dedicated graphics memory (since i think by default the hd3000 may be 64mb), you should be able to play it. im not sure about the 420 or 520

CPU: i5-3230m (2.6Ghz - 3.2Ghz)
RAM: 8GB
GPU: Geforce 710m (1024MB vRam)

Actually I have posted this on another thread before. But as they announce the pre-order, the requirement has been changed. So I am not sure whether I can run CSL now.
I know my gpu is not very good. So I may run CSL with lowest setting. Could this laptop satisfy me?

Well it is kind of hard when some of us dont have a copy of the game. my desktop rig is an an older i5, 8gb, gt 610 that should be fine, but im willing to upgrade if i buy the game and it goes where i want mod wise.

like i said in another reply though, id be willing to test my integrated intel hd machines (laptop). I use to travel a lot and post youtube videos of what the machine could actually play while i was out on the road. However, most of my content was flagged for copyright infringement (music in the game). Anyway, i have since deleted this account because i didnt feel like battling youtube over it and then editing everything in the end when it was old content, BUT like i said i could do one for this game. Im sure others would be willing to post some stuff with other questionable machine specs too
