Minimum requirements state a dual core of 3.0ghz. I think you would still be able to run the game, though. But then when it comes to graphics, it is also below the minimum, even if by a very small change in the videocard model number.
That pc is on a crossfire setup, 2 independent GPUS working together. the integrated on and another very close in capability, interesting stuff gotta see for yourself.Well I have NO Earthly idea about this computery stuff (lol, no, seriously). I just ask them "can it play Paradox games? Yes? Sold.". Take game, stick it in, enjoy.
I have no idea if I have a good processor (I only have 2.10 Gigaschmerz but the darned thing is new) so... yah... I greatly appreciate any help.

64 bit (as far as I'm concerned, changing to 64 bit has done nothing but move all my Paradox game files into some mysterious world called the (x86) folder)

This game looks so smooth from the videos. I really hope it will run somewhat smooth on my computer. SimCity 5 was a disaster.

I'm not concerned about my specs as much as I am about the operating system. The recommended version (for Linux at least) is Ubuntu 14.10. I will be using ElementaryOS Freya (which is built off Ubuntu 14.04) Assuming my specs match the recommended I’ll be able to run the game off my OS, right?
Hey Hackner and CheapSushi! Thank you SOOO much for your help. I'll have to look up what this crossfire setup is (again that sounds pretty funny. "Duck! Don't get hit in the cross fire!"). I will definitely learn more about what that does (after I lovingly pet my computer for being unique ) Neat site, too, and the comparison with yours actually really helps.

My laptop with a 2.5ghz 2520 i5 processor and integrated graphics has surprised me a few times like being able to play XCOM: Enemy Unknown fairly decently. I'd wait for someone to play this game on one though because from experience with Civ5, DX11 mode almost melts my laptop, while DX9 runs fine.
Your gpu is not supported- It could run under Linux, but we don't know which openGL version C:s supports.

We don't know if Intel's graphic card is supported. Are you sure about your I5 has only 1.4 GHz?

This link provides the list of graphics cards, that can support cities skylines.
Ofcourse in this list. You have to also exclude graphics cards with less than 512mb of VRAM. Since that's the minimum.
