Here is a screenshot for some Ryukyu update in 1653 :

For sure there would be some juicy colonial conquests to perform here with a cheap BB CB...

Less challenging and thus less exciting, here is my Fujiwara Japanese America in 1549 (right when I got a PU with Ming I'm still not sure what to do with) :

In this game I have used the pettiest westernizing strategy ever. Met Castile on my way to circumnavigate South America. Sold them the cheapest province I could find, landlocked in the middle of my biggest isle. It made them officially discover Japan but they couldn't reach it by any means. I protected it from random rebels for them as long as I was in the process of westernizing, and once I was done, funded some Japanese patriots. Meanwhile, I had regained a core on that province thanks to a border dispute, so when it eventually defected back to me, it was just as if nothing had ever happened.

A problem I didn't have with Ryukyu (since Central America is already animist) is religious conversion. It's going to take a looong time...

One of the first converted provinces is tipped to become the future capital of an extended Japanese American empire (because why not ?)

But for now, I've had more fun doing this with an European OPM I might have neglected to consider playing so far...

No regrets to have left this coast with many poor provinces and annoying rivals... although I have just vassalized Hungary, after they wanted to punish me for escaping my own vassal status from them, decades ago. The war was long enough for me to fund Croat rebels and let them do the job... Ragusa is not an isolated province anymore.

Have you guys ever considered using mods? MEIOU covers all start dates incase you want to do a later start

Given their long and tremendous experience of Paradox games, I'm pretty sure other players who post here have used (and perhaps created themselves) all EU3 mods.

I've just tried some, but I'm not good at installing that kind of stuff and ended up with incomplete or corrupted files, probably because I downloaded some poorly translated French versions instead of the original ones. I have Misc Mods (cool concept but a lot of country names are missing, and many pop-up messages are illegible) and Death & Taxes (same problems + the game crashes after a dozen years). I've heard a lot about MEIOU, sounds awesome, but due to my previous deceptions I never really tried to install it. If I can find a link to some safe downloading, I might try again...
 
I dont know of any uploading sites since file front aka game front shut down. And perhaps you can direct me to a picture sharing site while you're at it? photo bucket has been charging for years now

For pictures I guess there's no need for a picture sharing site anymore. Indeed I can see in ancient posts that most people used to do it with Photo bucket, and now their pictures are lost, which is a shame. But I just download my screenshots directly with the "Attach files" tool below ; been doing this for 10 years, and it works... so far.
 
Released Crete from Venice as a vassal, and got an island country with awesome sliders and an excellent king on day 1. Very soon, Venice lost a war against Hungary and had to grant me complete independence as a tribute. I didn't even have an army at this point. Money was tight, I spent more than 50 years with an annual income below 10 ducats, but trade was gradually becoming more efficient and allowed me to fund an obscene amount of Greek patriot revolts. With a backstab against Venice and a couple crusades against the Ottomans once my army was large enough, I achieved this :

I conquered Constantinople a long time ago in a war against Byzantium, which made me the sole Greek country around (this was primordial in my strategy since all Greek patriots defected to me from then on). But I chose Athens as my capital province...

Another former OPM, Ragusa has come a long way. Here is what has become the heartland of a thriving empire.

Relations with other Europeans are quite distant and wars are rare, except for that major conflict against Castile (and France !) :

Ragusa is now a Republican dictatorship though, which means apart from colonial wars I could also plan crazy invasions with the Imperialist CB, against that blobbing Poland for example, or even within the HRE. Europe could become my colonial empire...

This game has been original in more than one way for me. I rarely go free trade and fully plutocratic as I did here. Trade in foreign CoTs and loads of spies contributed more than warfare to get me where I am now.

I had a mega upload profile, didnt know they shut down! Moddb is still up, give me a few days to get to it

What do you need it for ? The earlier conversation leaves me a bit clueless in this regard.
Attaching files or pictures here works fine for many years now.
Mega still exists. The successor to the Hong Kong based one is https://mega.nz/register .
I used it a lot for mod related stuff. No need for it as much anymore now.
Maybe even your profile still works there.

Other interesting ones are easyupload.io, file.io and FileFactory.
For pictures i know none anymore without registration.

Err..5.6 including hotfixes is available here or do you refer to a different version ?

If you mean a version of yours with the fixes or modifications you mentioned as in the other thread where we talked, then you
could post it the the above linked thread or add it as an attachment there or start a thread in the subforum.
I mean other folks would likely be searching for a newer variant with apparently bugfixes in there i'd suppose.
Mega is by the way free of charge if you prefer that to attaching it here.

oh i wasnt knowing that the links were still available on paradox plaza. I suggested to this gentleman to try a mod, Eu3 for 18 years will drive you nutty
