Can be get the option for "Show only OP responses" similar to already existing "Show only DEV responses"? It would make reading AARs a lot easier :)

In the meantime you can already achieve a similar result using the search function with options "Posted by member" [OP user name] and "Search this thread only" checked .

or click replys and then just click on post by the user

Competitions exclusively for the community! with awards of course ;) not only will this engage the community to use the forum more often and create some fun, but it will also draw more outsiders to register on the Paradox Plaza.

What kind of competitions, you may ask? I'm not so sure, I'm not a content designer :p

Yeah, but you still get only search results. I. e. only few first lines of the post. You still have to open each post to read it. Thanks for the trick anyway. Did not know that one and it's a bit faster.
yeah.. like your idea and also would like "show only my replies" too as sometimes it's hard to find something I posted that I'm looking for especially if I have been active in a thread.

We are recruiting another Community Manger actually so that is quite possibly something we will do in the future ;). We used to do weekly contests at Wargaming and I can promise you that we won't do something similar here, it was an absolute nightmare to keep track of and organize. Then again, there were nearly 10 million accounts on that forum :p.

Can we please get an option to hide the game icons?

It is already ridiculous and getting worse with every game released. I can't even fit two one-line posts completely on my monitor. My mouse wheel is burning.

For anyone interested: I did it now myself by adding
Code:
||forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/styles/paradox/owneditems/icons/*
as a filter rule to my Adblocker. Forum is so much more compact and better to use now!

Here is a comparison screenshot:

In your Adblocker? Interesting! I wouldn't have thought of that! Easy way to solve the "problem", thanks for the info!

The adblocker can be used for many things. In OT we've from time to time had some friendly competitions where we have removed each other's avatars through adblocker. You can have it remove only certain avatars or them all should you so desire. You can also have the avatars of individual users exchanged by some other avatar; somebody made a thread about it a while ago. It's a kind of roundabout way to get custom avatars.

It's also adblockers which are the reason that many people never see your banners.

Personally I prefer don't mind the avatar selection and I like seeing the icons, so I don't have anything blocked/added.

The usage of themes in web extensions such as Stylish to modify the font and size of text is also an interesting option which I used personally, so that everyone has the Times New Roman font of the size 14. I think it could also be used to create custom backgrounds, but I'm not an expert personally.

Just wanted to say that we are reading all suggestions even if we do not comment specifically on them.

STOP requiring access to my Steam account. This is enough to stop me from buying any Paradox games in the future.
Do you have a better way ot PI verifying you actually purchased the game?
It's required that you register your games on the fora if you want to use the fora, so that PI don't accidentally give help to pirates---this is instead of having intrusive drm. In fact PI games have no drm (unless you consider using steam drm); would you rather have they load up their games with loads of drm instead?

I have never run into a game from any company that requires you to confirm your purchase in any way before allowing you access to the forums. Except Paradox. I really love their games but I find it weird that they chose this route. An hour later and I still can't get the mod I want.

The fora which are restricted are mods, tech support, and bug reports. I.e. where PI employees or volunteers could potentially end up spending considerably time helping pirates (possibly with problems solely arising from it being a pirated copy), if it weren't for the registration system.
And it only takes 5 seconds to link up with steam.

Sure other companies might not do it---they have a boatload of intrusive DRM then. PI is pretty unique in having absolutely no DRM in their games. You literally can take the game files and move them to another computer and the game will run flawlessly (without MP and achivements of course, since those rely on steam features to work). Similarly you can mod pretty much everything and PI routinely makes new things modable when people ask for it. With PI games there's absolutely no need to basically crack the games to mod them, like with certain other games. That's something too which would be hampered if not completely removed if PI had to start putting in DRM.

As mentioned it literally comes down to either having the registration on the fora or having DRM. Ask yourself what you prefer---I at least am not in doubt that I'd rather have no DRM.

I get it. It's easy to justify this system when you are using strawman arguments and excessive hyperbole. I'd keep talking but this thread is for another use.

EDIT because you are keeping my new posts invisible.

Should add that it's taken me an hour to get this account working so that I can download a single mod for CKII yet I'm still denied access to the forum with no explanation. That to me, is more frustrating than a bit of DRM.

EDIT
And after searching through the forums, I see that you had the answer to the exact problem I was having but didn't bother mentioning it here.

Might sound like the sync is down again---has happened before and if so then don't expect it fixed until Monday when the staff gets back to the office...

There's aprt of the fora, like tech support, mods, and bug reports, which you can't access without having your games registered though. Also the x/54 is not a progress bar, but merely tells you how many icons you presently have shown beneath your avatar---54 being the limit and when you reach 54 owned games you get a shiny golden bar just under your avatar.

Have you ever had a DRM tell you to wait till Monday for your content?

@Nikolai Being a native English speaker I actually understand their meaning quite well.

I don't think those words means what you think they do.

Not referring just to this discussion, you might want to remember that most of us aren't native English speakers... and therefore you might understand the meaning of the words, but fail to grasp the intended message.

@gigau I understand that you're trying your best to give the impression I have no idea what I'm talking about. If you have any useful info related to the topic at hand, that would be great! But other than that... nothing was added to this discussion by you. No offense intended, but this isn't why I posted here.

I came here because I was frustrated with the system used to lock content (that Paradox in most cases has nothing to do with and has not produced - MODS) behind a paywall. I have bought the game. I have synced my account. But according to "Wagonlitz" There is nothing to be done until Monday. That to me, is demonstrably a critical flaw with this system and considering how many PI games I have in my library, I have every right to voice my opinions. I don't expect to be "obeyed" at all, but at the very least a reasonable discussion could have been had. Forumgoers typically aren't employees so... "Wagonlitz"s claim that this is to save their time from helping "pirates" from modding their games just doesn't hold any water... and honestly is a nonsense excuse.

Overall, my experience with this forums and the users on it has been disappointing. I'm obviously upset that I cant access this content that I've paid for,

This is a much, much x100 better system than the alternative, though. Whatever its flaws. Aside from that, I got the Utopia DLC as a gift the night to Saturday, and it got synched sometime after that. So it seems you are incorrect in it not working. It is probably user error, and I recommend you either wait for someone to get you the solution here, or better, lodge a ticket in the system made to solve these cases. You can of course not expect a company to work on a weekend. You'll have to wait. If you are lucky, some forum member takes pity on you and help you before that. But with this attitude, I suspect not many will try.
