• We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
@TinyWiking , (CC: @Castellon and the entire Paradox community) If possible, please allow pasting of .jpg, .gif, .ppt, and other information tools in the "Conversations" feature.

Currently, the conversation section seems to allow only words.

But as the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words.

:)

For example, using the conversation feature, I wish to paste the following chart into the dialogue:

Alas, the possibility of appending such data in a conversation does not (yet) exist.

Many thanks to all the work done by the forum staff members and others.

You can add images to conversations by using the Upload File option at the bottom so I'm a little unsure of what the issue is here actually ;).

That button doesn't exist for us forumites. I've always believed that's because we only can edit a post for 5 minutes and hence wouldn't be ableto remove attachments again should we upload some to PMs.

Speaking of attachments then what about a page where you can see them all. Would be nifty and also prevent you from having to upload the same thing several times whenever you need it.

Oooo I hadn't noticed that actually, having an Admin account means I sometimes takes things for granted ><. I'm logged in to my test account and can see that you have the insert image option at least which is better than nothing!

As for a "media gallery" this is actually something that's being worked on for Xenforo 2.0 and I'm exicted! That upgrade will be wikkid!

We can insert pictures uploaded elsewhere indeed. And frankly I think that's the best option as long as the 5 minutes edit bar is there, since otherwise you'd be prevented from ever removing something you uploaded, should you at some point want to do that.

Whatever did you guys do a few days ago? After we got the new forum software, I and many others had to log in every few minutes on cell phones. This finally got fixed a few months back. But the last five or six days I've had to log in again once a day. Every single day. Not affecting desktop, there I only have to log in again 1-2 times a month. Which still is too often. But on my Huawei P10 Lite this is now yet again a problem.

We've not made any changes to the login servers nor the forums as a whole for a while actually. We will have a downtime next week but it shouldn't impact accounts. I've seen this report before but we've been unable to replicate it (I don't have this issue for example) so it's on the back burner.

Thanks for the reply.

Hmmm...but when in the conversation mode, forum users cannot paste images into the body of the conversation like they can in the forums.

Maybe it works differently for different account holders?

Copy an image (not copy link, but copy image) directly works fine in posts, but not messages.

Huh. Weird.

If it is to any help: I've been away for two days. Those two days I only used my cell for using the forums. Never got logged out, after several days of getting logged out daily. Then I got home tonight. Was prompted to log in on desktop. I did. Now an hour or so later, I used my cell again. And had to log in anew. Could it be that use of desktop and cell alternatively somehow messes something up?

That's weird, I've been having the "not staying logged in" issue on two separate computers with two separate internet services despite both originally being no problem.

Can I suggest a great big sign on top of the forums and "Error" message that says,

"YOU MUST OWN THE GAME THROUGH STEAM IN ORDER TO ENTER ANY GAME'S FORUM ON PARADOX PLAZA!
YOUR PARADOX INTERACTIVE ACCOUNT MUST BE LINKED TO YOUR STEAM ACCOUNT IN ORDER FOR YOUR PARADOX INTERACTIVE ACCOUNT TO KNOW THAT YOU OWN THE GAME."?

I must have missed that when I followed a link in here (or when I registered for Paradox Plaza or when I registered my game with Paradox) and I was getting this uninformative error message: "Paradox Interactive Forums - Error; You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action." I had no idea why until I went through forum support for help.

At the top of each game forum should be this message:
upload_2017-10-11_20-19-19.png

It links off how to do the linking... Its a nice mix between informative and not horrible design :p

"To view and participate in sub forums, you must Register your base game."
Yeah, that's nice and clear. But it isn't anywhere that I would have seen it. I came here to get info on the H.I.P mod for CK2. It is not on that page, or its forum's page, or the forum above that one -- or on the error message that I got. Just on each game's top-level forum. Just because it's find-able somewhere, doesn't mean that the people will see it when they need it.

This problem has been solved for me,... I'm just thinking about the next guy.

How much do you really want new people to be able to use the forums anyway? :p

Thank you and sorry I am new here

The whole registration issue could be more obvious and easily accessible in my opinion, so in that sense it was the right thread. ;)

Registration is also required for access to subforums you otherwise won't even see....and yeah, welcome.
Connect - synch - log out and back in again...and hopefully it's done.
