Yes, but the second thread you linked to doesn't fix the problem in the first; but the juxtaposition of them implies that it could.
That was not what I wanted to imply, I just wanted to explain the other issue with hidden posts being separate, since I understood from the post that they had been mixed up. Sorry if it came out as that though, I will edit the post to remove the ambiguity.

This isn't a mere forum improvement but rather a general site improvement (but I don't know where that thread is), but can we get a window that says which dev diaries are active in which week and which days they're on? So it would basically be a grid of two rows and five columns, the top saying the days of the week (minus weekdays of course) and the bottom saying "oh on this day is CK2, on this day is HOI4, etc" and if there is a dev diary planned this week the color of the bottom row entry lights up or something? It'd be useful for new people who don't know when each game gets a diary and it'd be useful in general to know when a game is far enough into its development cycle of that patch to get a new dev diary.

This wouldn't cover irregular dev diaries if the team wants to make that, but a single graphic that easily conveys all information about when to check for that tidbit would make life easier I think. It wouldn't even have to be updated often, just check on Monday with each team if they feel ready for regular dev diaries or not.

A dev diary google calendar, yes, please.

Hiya

I have been using the forums for a while now and I lack 2 things. (I roam forums way to much).

A) A friend function for profiles. Add a user to a friend list. The follow function is good, but I lack a list of users I'd like as "friends". And the friend function could open other options between users?

B) A button for "Awesome post, I love it", or something like that. Agree, Disagree and Helpful, are 3 GREAT buttons. Disagree takes care of any negative really, without the hostile feeling. But when you want to say you love a post for whatever reason, Agree or Helpful doesnt show that.

Is it possible to load a cookie that will log users in when when we access the forums on mobile devices? It would help with the analytics you have set up as well.

If that isn't possible could you please make the Paradox Account button bigger on mobile devices. I use a Pixel and usually need to hit the button a few times to get to the login screen?

I think the problem is that user is logged off when accessing the forum on another device. I.e. when you log in on your desktop the cookies are saved and you don't have to log in, but when you log in using the mobile, you will have to log in from your desktop next time you use it. And vice versa. At least that's the behaviour I have noticed. Can someone confirm that is indeed the case and can it be fixed?

This is not true. I use both mobile, tablet and desktop several times a day, and I have to log in once every few days on my desktop, 1-3 times a day on my phone and my tablet I think it's somewhere in between.

Suggestions:
1. People should be banned for posting crazy conspiracy theories (not just 9/11 ones)*
2. We should be able to embed tweets in forum posts

*They have repeatedly been posted in certain OT threads and no moderator action appears to have been taken.

OT posts deleted. Do NOT do this here. I'm sure you know where to go.

Report them there.

I think this is the best place to make this suggestion.

I think it would be nice if there were more avatars for europa univarsalis in the forums. There could be the shield-flag things used as avatars, maybe some adviser portraits that users could use as their avatar if they get certain DLC's.

Fixing the NEW login issue. The old was irritating, having to relogin every 2-3 times a day. The last couple days new issue is worse though. Get a new logon screen with a keep being logged in button back, but then when logging in being told your session has timed out. Try logging in and refreshing a dozen times, no luck. Hit back on your phone/tablet(this happens both on ipad and my android phone) to a forum thread the page before you got prompted to log in, open new page, show as logged out, click on login button in upper right corner, being insta logged. I mean, what gives???

This happened to me yesterday, ended up leaving it for a good 4 or 5 hours. Was infuriating.

Suggestion: Allow users to change their name for $5.00
This is actually something that comes up now and then though more as a joke than an actually suggestion ;). I'm not a big fan of making customers pay for name changes but I guess it would be an option.
Better yet, allow a user one free name change and each consecutive after a one-year grace period or something like that.
This isn't a bad idea but I'd like to elaborate a bit on why we don't do this.

Changing names isn't as straight forward as it may seem and this comes down to Xenforo (forum software) and our own backend. They don't always play nice and changing the name needs to be done in several places. As such, only me and Castellon actually has the option to do it which means that we'd spend all our time doing nothing but name changes, even if only 1% asked for it (we have about 800000 accounts on the forum :p). Add to this, if someone picks a name that is already taken, there would be a massive back and forth trying to come up with another name and, well, it would be a mess. You'd also have the problem of trolls changing names to "hide in plain sight" so to say, something we want to avoid.

All this being said though I'm definitely not saying it will never happen. One idea we've had is to do what Steam does where you can change your name as much as you want but there will always be a "previously know as" menu showing all the names the user had before.

Thanks for the clarification. :)

Going to add my voice to the chorus wishing that the forum would stop logging me out every day. Pretty much every other site I have to log into for any reason has no issue remembering me indefinitely and it's extremely annoying.

Well, I think agree/disagree buttons should be bigger, only so that people remember they exist after reading a comment. Because as they are right now, you can spend weeks on the forums without even noticing them.

Or maybe I just have the "blind" character trait.
