Well, to be factual, acceleration and decelaration are the changes in speed. Speed is actual and accel/decal derivative. I am curious if you complain to the Power Company when your 'Power Bill' arrives. Lets face it, this conversation seems a little silly and tends to lead to forum combat. It is really not a big deal for a game.

That was my point. And no, I don't complain, because I get an energy bill. Although they do charge me extra for peak power and average power factor as well.
