Prethorian scourge not ending

Hey folks,

Im playing an ironman game where all 4 endgames crises should show up. Ive already beaten the Unbidden and had problems with them as well. But some 30-50 years after I beat them the game finally realised they were gone and I moved on to the 2nd one. The Prethorian scourge.

Ive killed all of their stuff. The only thing they have got left are 3 planets. Which the AI somehow occupied. I cant orbital bombardment them and theyre a part of the union oof non aligned powers (Im unaligned) and I dont have a planet killer. So I cant get rid of the planets in an another manner either.

Every now and again armies arrive above their planets (even though theyre occupied, lol) and they continously keep getting fleets of 5 infestors.

Ive loaded the game in a multiplayer game to spectate them and they literally have nothing aside from the 3 planets. On ocassion these infestors show up. Inmediatly get destroyed and then after a while new infestors show up. But the game wont end the endgame crisis.

How can I fix this game and keep playing? Ive been playing it for about a month now and I REALLY dont want to abondon the game now. But at the same time I cant finish the game either,.

I assume the whole galaxy is at war against the Scourge. If not get a motion through the Senate.

Otherwise, as I see it, you have 3 options:
1) Declare war on the nations holding the planets.
2) Somehow use the console to cheat the AIs out of those systems. I presume they control the stabases not the planets. They may eventually send armies to conquer them.
3) Quit and start a new game.

1: Like I said the planets are taken by another faction. Pretty much the entire galaxy (minus like 3 or 4 empires) is in 1 federation, the federation of algned powers thanks to a war in heaven. The war ended but the federation dident. So declaring war on them will just get me killed at this point. My empire is powerful;l. But not 'I can beat the rest of the galaxy on my own' powerfull I think. Maybe I could win if the stars align but in the long term it would just swap 1 problem for another.

2: Well I tried that but I cant bring up the console. Ive looked up the controls that should, but its not working. I also dont control the starbaes. The AI does. Landing armies on them isent possible, orbital bombarding them isent possible and the ykeep spawning armies. I have no clue how in gods name they managed to occupy these planets but I couldnt land armies on them myself so im kinda confused by that.

3: This seems to be the way this is going but I would really hate it if that were to happen. I put alot of hours into this playthrough and want to see it through if possible.

You can try editing the save file to turn off iron man so you can go to the console and maybe destroy the planets. You can find instructions for editing stellaris save files by googling it. Otherwise unfortunately you've run into a bug that has persisted for a long time:

I'd suggest making your own bug report too. It is frustrating and there seems to be a bunch of weird bugs with Scourge occupation, like them taking over ruined habitats or having infested planets that don't count as theirs.

If you have an ascension perk slot, you can fix this using a Colossus (it does not matter who is occupying the planet, they don't get mad when you blow it up). (I keep a slot open to take a Colossus because this happens distressingly often, most recently against a BtC empire.) If you don't, well...

One common problem with the scourge are their construction vessels. The go missing in action after a few hits and respawn many years later in an nearby system. As long one one of them exists, the crisis doesn't end. It's my most common problem with them too. Best solution is to wait for the reappearance and destroy them with massive firepower before they can go mia again.
