I used the editor to modify the 1936 scenario and i dissolved the alliances (allies, axis and comintern). It worked.

But now i can´t change it back. I edited the file again, saved it, but nothing happened. And i was stupid by not creating a copy of the scenario file.

How can i fix this?

Reinstall.

Also, never use the editor. Did you never come across that mantra here on the forums? I myself am posting this at least once a day. NEVER USE THE EDITOR.

All game files (including the scenarios) are in easy to understand text format. You can easily find the "alliance = {" part and just delete it. ;)

Cheers mate, I will reinstall it then.

I know next to nothing about computers, and i´m afraid if i edit those files i´ll just delete something i shouldn´t.

What do i have to edit for the game to continue beyond 1953?

Make a copy of the file that you are editing before you change it... if the change does not work rename the saved copy back to its original name.

Either use the no time limit patch linked above

OR

buy the armageddon expansion. It expands the timefram to 1964 and adds a large chunk of improvements to the game. :)
