I've been playing with version 107b (thats the version that came in the box). It works fine on my machine. I loaded up the new upate this morning version 108. After installing the update the game can no longer find the cd and wont load. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling 3 times now. Each time i verified that that in 107b it works fine, after the update it wont find the cd and fails to load.
How can i solve this problem???

(thnx to DMvault for sharing the same problem)

Ah, the Benelux Blackstar (English version) has no 1.08 upgrade!

Is there a 1.08 upgrade comming up then?

Please let me know.....

Patric posted an answer to this a few days ago. I think that he said an update is in the works (or words to that effect).

Have fun............

Well,

Seems like the same problem Ive had. I can install the original game without problems but when I try to run in nothing happens. Ive downloaded and installed the scandinavian version of patch 1.08. After this I get the message 'EU CD not in drive'.

HELP!!!

trick to upgrade to benelux 1.08

Here is the trick I've found to get to a benelux version 1.08. The benelux version seems to be just the German version with an english text.csv file. you can run the german 1.08 patch on your benelux install, the only disadvantage is that it converts your text.csv to german. However according to the improved campaign docs (im not 100% sure about this), after 1.06 the only thing the patches need to do is change the europa.exe file. So this is what i did:

1. Install benelux 1.07
2. Install german 1.08 patch to another directory.
3. copy europa.exe from new directory to benelux directory.

Ive done this and my game runs in english with improved gameplay, so i think this works ok. Can anyone refute/confirm this method?

cheers,
jeff
