Information:
HOI strategy 1st CD
I am running under Microsoft Windows ME.
Dell Dimension 8100 with Intel P4 1400 Mhz
384 MB RAM
6.97 GB free
Video card: Radeon 9000 Pro
Sound Card: Santa Cruz Turtle Beach v5.12.01.4081
Direct X version: Direct X 8.1 (4.08.01.0901)
I read the stickies and what-not.

Now for the problem: I had been experiencing bugs with all the various mods I downloaded so I decided to uninstall HoI and delete all the files from the Hearts of Iron folder. After this, I started to reinstall the program. However, an error always occurs when I install the program at the same point. The point is where it says

Copying File:
C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Hearts of Iron\map\lightmap1.tbl

Ive uninstalled and reinstalled HOI several times before this so I'm not sure what the problem here is. Please Help!

EDIT: Forgot to post the error message! It is as follows:
"An I/O error has occured while installing the file. This is normally caused by bad installation media or a corrupt installation file."

Make sure you have cleaned out your registry, Make sure you have deleted all HOI related folders and files.
Try installing to the default directory.

Odd, all I had to do was change the name of the save directory from hearts of iron to hearts of iron1 and that solved everything.
