I'm having trouble loading my latest savegame.
Version is: Doomsday with 1.2. Also installed DAIM and copied events from smep.
It's not to many details to list. But;
- Game starts fine. All savegames except the latest, autosave and oldautosave are loading with no problems.
- When loading; "initializing provinces" is passed without problems. "Reading scenario" fails :(

I get a ctd as soon as the "reading scenario"-step starts. My best guess would be that there's something wrong with the savegame itself. I opened the savegame in notepad, but couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. Could the fact that I get the ctd very quickly, be an indication that there's something wrong with the top of the savegame or possibly the file itself?

I wouldn't have posted if I had a more recent backup, but I played through three years since the last working savegame. And it kinda sucks having to do it all again. Any help would be appreciated :)

Aslo; should i send this one in as a bugreport?

It may also contain stuff that's conflicting with some of the installed mod's. In any case, during the processing of what is stored in the save game file, the engine encounters something that is outside of the defined range of values, or references something that's not actually in the game database (anymore).

I beleive I have the same problem...........

The game was running OK until after awhile when I tried to load a saved
game and I got this message:

CRITICAL ERROR
------data base mismatch ( Type=4712/I.D.884986 )
already used!-------Do you want to continue?
<Abort> <Retry> <Ignore>

I went on to play the game one time and saved the game. Then when I tried
to play it later I got the same message so I aborted the game and got this
message after getting the "CRITICAL ERROR" message:

Runtime error!
Program C: \Program Files\HOI2.exe
Adnormal program termination

I saved all the games before by either pausing the game or Quit (Surrender F-10 key)and saving game by the Game Management Menu....but when I did that instead of the program going back as it did before to the "Victor Points Screen" and to the "Launch Menu Screen" it "CRASHES" back to the Desktop.
In other words if I want to save a game by either going to Menu>save then quit or surrender >F-10 to save then quit after doing that the game goes back to only the Victory Points Screen and crashes to Desktop NOT to the Main Launch Menu Screen.
Someone suggested to "SAVE" the games to another folder, but that didn't help. So I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it thinking something got corrupted. Will that didn't solve the problem. If I put the saved games back into the HOI2 saved games folder the same problem occurs. Also my monitor screen "blinks" black for a short second and I was told it was the game switching the monitors resolution.

COULD THEY GET A PATCH TO CORRECT THAT PROBLEM?????

If you still have that particular save game (assuming it was made with the latest version of Doomsday) with that duplicate Id in it, please submit it as a bug report as per stickied instructions.

A duplicate Id in a save game (assuming the save game has not been altered in anyway, which I'm quite sure it isn't) indicates that the saving routine has either saved the same game entity twice via different routes, or that there were two separate entities with the same Id actually in use right before you saved the game. Either case is not correct. Analysis of the save game content can aid the developers in determining which of the two it is, how it may have happened, and what to do to fix it.

Thank you.

I may have a solution to the problem...maybe at least temporary.
I did a dskscn diskscan (XP) of my hard drive and at least for
know I have had no problems of what I had before or what others
have posted in having.
The program is suppose to check the hard drive for errors of
files and folders.
If anyone else has done this with the same results as I have
post it here.

Seems you hit it right on the button. For some reason i had copied hoi2 units-folder into doomsday (i had copied alot of events, so i probably copied the whole db-folder instead of just the events-folder). The problem was when japan sent me blueprints for modern infantry, and of course the game couldn't handle it as the most advanced infatry division was semi-modern infantry.

Ok. Glad the cause has been located. ;)
