Try this.
1. use patch 3.
2 rename the whole eic folder under the documents folder.
3. run the game
4. check that you have keybinds and options files in the newly generared eic/config folder.
5. start a new game
6. save
7. check the content of the savegame folder
8. try to load the game
if the task 7. fails , no files in that folder, searh files *save*.eic from your computer. If you find them let us know where did you find those files.
quick workaround is to move those files into that directory.
