Problem with a quest ending the same turn it starts

My stronghold is essentially isolated from the rest of my kingdom (in london) and I payed money to the king of Wessex (Cydril?) to be able to cross his lands, and after a while i got the message that the time was running up and i had to pay him again.

But in that exact same turn I got a message saying that my time was up and so i am i now at war with him, something that really screws up my game, is this a bug or did I miss something? is there any way i can fix this problem?

i have retried it repeatedly but it always happens so its not a one time thing.

thats weird, its never happened to me. Maybe it because ur not peaceful enough with the king or he/she doesn't respect u enough. Check their relationship next time thise happens to see if its low. If its not very low then I have absolutely no clue why its doing that.
