so i bought the African DLC along with the expansion. on start up the game crashed. however if i turn of the african dlc in the launcher the game works as normal. is there a way to fix this?

Same problem. The error.log file contains the single line:

[virtualfilesystem.cpp:570]: Could not open file: gfx/models/Mapindicators/Muslim_Steward.xac

This file doesn't exist. This is on the GamersGate version. I installed African Units with my spare blue coins, but haven't yet installed SoI. Disabling the African Units DLC solves the crash bug.

I can confirm this. Same deal, CTD on splash screen, but deselected African Units from launcher and CK2 with SoI worked fine (although I had to re-install SoI).

(Edit)

Gamersgate version of all DLC and base game.

Same problem here. I can play with African sprites pack deselected, otherwise CTD right after pressing play game.

@sjo76 (or anyone): Please clarify, to fix I reinstall SoI, not the sprite pack??? Doesn't make sense but I'll try it when I get back to the game in the next few days.

edit - For the record, I have every available DLC purchased through the load screen, all with "blue coins" from GamersGate.

Game CTD on Launch when using 1.06, African Units DLC but NO SoI

So, I've updated yesterday to 1.06 but did not buy/install SoI, despite I want it so much: I am in Europe now, my debit card is in US dollars and my Gamersgate account does not accept it for some reason to buy more Euro-bluecoins. My current bluecoins balance was less than 3000 so I decided that I can wait to buy SoI when I go back to the US.

So, I decided to install only the African Units DLC (which I could afford with my bluecoins balance) with the intention to conquer west africa with some Christian dynasty and try to manage to become African/Christian and still have some flavor. It turns out, that if you try to run CK2 with all the pre-1.06 DLCs installed, plus the African Units DLC (but NO SoI and the related muslim music DLC) the game crashes to desktop after 1-2 seconds it starts to launch. The only way to launch the game is via the launcher (not the direct .exe file with the icon) and by deselecting the African Units DLC.

This is not a huge problem to me as I am planning to buy SoI at some point anyways, and in the end that DLC is not very essential to me, but I felt this is an important information to give as the African Units DLC was not advertised, unlike the muslim music one, to require SoI to play/run.

Oooops, there is another thread open on this, I hope the information I'm giving is useful anyways.

If African Units selected on launcher, game crashes on 1st loading screen (Paradox CoA).
If African units de-selected, Sword of Islam DLC selected, Islamic characters not playable.
GamersGate version.
