Problem with building churches

Hey all,

I noticed twice now that I can't build churches in certain privinces. The first was during my Holland game where I couldn't build a church in Loon and the second was in my Castille game where my vassal(Duke of something or other) couldn't build a church in Asturias de Ovideo. In both cases there was a tile factory already built and both provinces had architecture level 2(both times the provinces were green on the tech map for archtecture). Is there a bug or something else that I'm unaware of preventing me from building churches in these provinces? Thanks.

No, you should be able to built them.

1. Do you have the gold to built them ?
2. What is your efficiencey? With an efficiency of 0 you can't built anything.
3. You say your 'vassal' couldn't built a church. How do you know that he couldn't built it ? Maybe he was saving gold to built something else. Did you own Loon, or was that also ruled by a vassal ? You can only built things in your own demesne.

Veldmaarschalk,

1. Even if I don't have the gold the church building should still come up in the province improvements screen as a red building, as opposed to green meaning I can afford to build it.
2. I have 100% eff.
3. When you click on a vassal's province and then click the improvements screen you can see all the buildings they can build. The thing is that in my Holland game I owned Loon had all the prerequesites fulfilled and still couldn't build a church.

maybe you dont have the technology in that province to build a church yet...technology is province by province it doesnt cover the whole realm once you checked one off

And to build churches, you need both level 1 and level 2 in architecture. Just having one of them won't work.
