I've been playing the EU1 Byzantine Campaign without to much problems.
Until now.
When thedate slides to the 1st of January 1570 the game crashes, it just throws me back to the desktop. Does anyone know why this happens and how to solve it?
I'm asking because I would like to continue the my colonisation effort in America :D

thank you

IIRC, there are 2 possibilities:

1) save the game one day before the crash. Open the big savegame-file and change the startdate to one day after the crash.

2) save the game one day before the crash. Restart EU and load a game, where you play another country, lets assume France. Start playing, pause and then (with F10, load) load the game with the crash. You will see that you play your "crash"-game, but now as France. Play a few days and save it. Then restart EU and load the crashgame. It will start on the same date you saved it playing France.

There is a bug in this scenario. Many people have experienced the same problem, including me. There is nothing you can do, short of re-writing the entire scenarion.

Hi

did you go through the thread at the beginning of this forum concerning trouble shooting EU problems?

cheers

It won't solve in problem. The Byzantine scenario is a creation of Gen. Suvorov and it crashes in 1570 on some machine. It's the date at wich a new leader comes along IIRC, and many have problems.

If this scenario isn't working Crazy Ivan, you'll simply have to forget it. Just play any other nation with the IGC.
