I'm unable to get the patch to work on my XP machine. It reports that "Europa Universalis is not installed", which is incorrect; it's installed and running fine. Any ideas on how to get the patch to work? It worked fine on my Win98 machine.

EU was not tested on XP because XP wasnt out then. Therefore it wasnt on the recommended list.
EU2 *will* work on XP - but that doesnt help you!
Are you using the correct patch for the version? - See "Running problems" in this forum.

Well, EU itself is working fine on the XP machine. It's version 1.07b. It won't accept an upgrade to 1.09 or 1.10. It just reports that the game is not installed. It is installed, in the default location. Is there any other way to get myself patched?

Aha!
OK, a few questions that will narrow things down:-

Does it say "Koch", Strategy First" or "Blackstar" on the box
Where did you buy it

Answer those and I might be able to help..... :)

You will probably find you are installing the wrong patch version for the game version you have. Even though you might have bought it in the US, for instance, you may have ended up with the BEN version. If you can't work it out just try each patch version.
