Hey everybody!

I searched the board for any problems similar to this one, and didn't find any, so here goes...

My friend and I have been playing EU2 on a LAN now for a couple weeks and we've consistently been having problems reloading our saved games. When you load a saved game on MP, a screen will normally come up that says "Compressing saved game file. This normally takes 15-30 seconds. Observe that your computer may seem frozen during this time" or something to that effect. This is all very normal and good. However, with some of the save game files we've loaded that window will flash on the screen for only a moment...the green bar over my friend's name (in the lower left window) will fill up like it's loading...then the window will flash up again and the process will repeat ad nauseum until you select another save game or leave the screen entirely. The game just never loads. To combat this we changed the autosave to yearly and saved the game several different times under different names, and each of us have tried hosting...Nothing seems to work. I saw a post here about how some of the save games would be "empty" so we made sure to check the size of the files after we saved and they're usually around 2 or 3 mb...

Is anyone else having this problem or anything close to it?

I copied this thread to the Bug reporting forum also.. hopefully somewhere Here or There will have the answer! :)

Not like anyone apparently cares, but for the record...

After some trial and error it seems that saving the game under a new name seems to alleviate the problem. Previously we had always saved it under the same file name, now we have been purposefully creating new files and this seems to have solved our problem. So hopefully, if anyone else ever has this problem this will help them.

Hi Jazzman! I hear You, we have had exactly the same problem (read my thread on this forum: Tales of Heroes) and found the very same cure: save it in a different file helps, but need to do it frequently!!!
