I've run into a strange problem with the game since I've installed the latest update. Last night while working through the Grand Campaign as Britain, I suddenly lost sound after about 1.5 hours of play. At that point, I saved my game in progress, figuring I would pick it up again today. However, the program fails to start up. It makes it through the intro film, and starts through the initializing protocol, only to freeze when loading sound drivers. After several warm boots, and a cold boot, the same problem remains. I'm about to reinstall the game, but I thought I would check in to see if anyone else has had this problem and if there is a solution.
BTW -- My machine is an HP Pavilion, PIII/500, with 128MB Ram, a 20G HD, Windows 98 (SP2), and a Creative Arts Sound Blaster board. I'm also running DirectX 8.
