Problem with Passworded Games

Been having a strange problem with the game. I have a almost full set for Stellaris, and taking advantage of the host DLC feature, I gave one Stellaris copy to a friend of mine.
I hosted a multiplayer game locked by password. We tried various combinations of passwords. He typed the password as I gave him(I said it to him over voice chat[Discord]) and couldn't join.
We(me and him) are using Stellaris 3.2.2, which is the most recent version as of now.
I hosted a non-passworded game and he could join with no problems. Glad the game has a feature where the host has to accept players who try to get in through HotJoin(DropIn).
Hope it gets looked at. I don't have any saves of the passworded games, since I didn't start them.

I haven't seen other such reports.

We need to determine which of you two has the problem. Can he join other passworded games? Can anyone else join your passworded games?

What if he hosts a passworded game, can you join it?

Geez, I haven't tested joining his game, since I'm the one who has all DLCs.
When he tried to join my game, the game said the password was wrong.

I understand that. I was hoping we could do some diagnostic tests to pin down where the problem might be. But if you don't want to do that, that's your right of course.

Next time I play with him, I'll try to test it by asking him to start another match in the game. Thank you for replying.
