Hello everyone :)

I don't know, if someone already mentioned it... but when i'm playing one of the spanish countries... my king (for example) starts with 4 military... and i've got a marshall with 14... but he wont count. same thing happens with my spy. i could live with that situation, if the others would stop spamming me... "I could be a better blabla" sometimes the game just gives me 3-5 other marshalls... would be nice, if the would count :D
oh, and if some other duke wants to marry one of my daughters... he chooses them in MY country, buuut for me, they are located in poland. bit strange, isn't it? and i have daughters, visible for me, but not visible for others. i kept a daughter for the son of my husbands leader, i could give her education, but she didnt even exist...

I don't really understand what you mean here - can you be a bit more specific?

What do you mean by "wont count"? You do ahve to appoint them if that's what you mean.

i appointed them... a military 4 king + a military 14 marshall should be [18], right? but my king still has [4]. if i appoint someone or not, no matter what military bonus the marshall should give... my king gets no bonus at all. 90% of the time i have 4 guys in my court appointed to marshall (the game did appoint them, i didn't do anything) plus the guy i appointed... and other court members still want to be a better marshall, because i have none... the people, who are marshall... don't seem to exist. sometimes reloading the game helps, sometimes it wont. and it only happens with spanish kingdoms, every other country works fine.
and i'm quite sure, it's not normal, that my heirs are located in some polish province, if they are spanish court members. usually i shouldnt have any influence in preparing marriages for polish court members at all. ofcourse i'm able to marry someone from poland, but the problem is, that my court members belong to poland.
i guess the marshall problem has something to do with that... the 4-5 marshalls i have... seem to be the marshalls of other countries, that appear in my court. once it happend, that i married a female courtmember of my husbands king (in multiplayer) suddently i had two chancellors, because my husband appointed her to chancellor at the same moment my heir married her...
*looks confused* i think i know how to play the game, sometimes it's just difficult for me, to describe problems with a game, which i dont have the english version of. i prefer playing english version, because it helps me to talk about them on boards... if i play them in my language... i sometimes dont know how specific things are called in english. i'm not satisfied with my own posts, because they are written in an awful english... whatever... i hope someone still understands my weird writing :)

Sorry, I don't understand what you are ttrying to describe.

From what I gather here, you are not appointing anyone, otherwise, the event wouldn't fire.
i have 4 guys in my court appointed to marshall (the game did appoint them, i didn't do anything)
1 - You cannot have more than one marshal at the same time

2 - The game will never appoint them automatically for you.

So, I think you are doing something wrong. Have you read the manual about how to appoint character to the different positions ?

*looks sad* *CRIES!*
I'm playing the game for 2 or 3 weeks now and i never had any problem with it (except some known bugs).
i know that i can't appoint more than one of my courtmembers.
- i appointed on marshall
- looking at my "family-tree-screen" i notice, that the points of the marshall don't count
- so back to the court
- the marshall is still apointed, plus 3-4 others, which i didn't apppoint
- the other appointed marshalls aren't really in my court they are somewhere else, in other provinces... belonging to other countries, they are their marshalls, not mine, but they still appear in my list
- if i renounce their status of marshall and afterwards appoint my favorite marshall, mine will be no marshall at all and the others will be appointed as marshall again.
- this makes it impossible for me to know who are my real courtmembers
- and its totally useless to appoint anyone to any job, because it will change after a few seconds.
- i first thought it is a synchronisation problem, but it happens in singleplayer, too
- arrrrrrrrrrrrrrr i'm not too stupid to play the game just because i'm female
*starts feeling soooooooo stupid, because noone understands her*
never thought that my english is that bad... usually ppl tend to understand me

Are you sure you appointed him? I never had that problem. You must be sure that his status changes from Courtier to Marshal.

Also you can't have more than one Marshal at any time (a fresh apointment will cancel the previous).

i'll describe (more detailed) what happend to me...
at the start of the game i appointed my courtmembers to their jobs...
after a few minutes my marshall died of old age
suddenly i had 4 people with the marshall tag
so i asked my husband to look at the bottom of my family tree so he could tell me whats wrong with my country
he said i have no marshall at all, so i looked at my king... no military bonus at all.
i appointed a new marshall. (the other marshalls didnt loose their marshall tag)... whatever, the new marshall i appointed didn't give any bonus at all.
so i told my husband the names of the marshalls i had in my court. he looked at my court (via family tree) and told me, that none of them exists in my list.
so we thought its a synchronisation problem and reloaded, but it did not help.
so we started a new game... same thing happened.
i played denmark, norway, bohemia, ireland, poland, sweden and france without any problems. it only seems to happen with spanish countries.
the problem is, that the males in my court... arent in my court. i can see them, but no one else. so, if they aren't in my court it's kind of logical, that i can't appoint them to marshall correctly. i can appoint them, but they will be marshall for 1 second only, cause they seem to belong to some other countries court.
my own courtmembers seem to be located in the countrie of lubusz (or however that polish country is called), because if someone proposes marriage to one of my daughters... the marriage pop-up-window has the banner of that specific polish country.
the only situation i notice, who is really in my court, is the moment they start spamming "i could be a better..." but that doesnt help me, because they dont appear in my list and i cant give a title to someone, who isn't there, right?
so i have two choices... 1. getting poor for giving them money every 15 seconds, because " i could be a better..." or 2. let them leave to an other country. tested both... nothing helps.
i now started playing norway again, no problems at all. i can appoint who i want to appoint. my daughters are in the country they have to be and so on. everything works fine. it really only happens in spain

i should post a screenshot, it gets boring to describe the same problem over and over again... people don't seem to understand/believe me. i can't use any of my courtmembers... and the only solution you have, is that i should read the manual... appointing a courtmember is easier than posting here...
everyone gets useful answers here... a "i don't know" has more sense than telling me over and over again, that i can't have more than one marshall... I KNOW THAT!. but why do i have 4 displayed, that aren't even in my country? thats the question... they arent the leaders of armies, i'm not at war.
they are in my courtlist, in the menue, where you appoint them.... 3-4 courtmembers, with "marshall" under their name. you all know, that this shouldnt be possible, but why is it? why can't i appoint my own marshall?
whatever... this is frustrating.

1) Try not to get frustrated; it is hard to understand you. A lot of the regular posters are smart people but don't speak English as their first language, and two people communicating in a second language can lead to a lot of misunderstandings.

2) Posting a screenshot would probably be very helpful in understanding the problem. I think people assume that they must be misunderstanding you because nobody has reported any problem like this.

3) When you patched the game, did you patch from the original, or did you put one patch on top of another? Patching over earlier patches has caused a lot of weird problems in CK for some reason.

4) When you post, try to separate your thoughts out a bit. It's hard to read everything smushed together in one paragraph.

first, i tried to post it more eye-friendly, buuut... at some point i turned into she-devil... i should have bought the english version... would be easier for me to describe, what i mean. finally it happend the first time, that no one understands what i'm meaning... perhaps something to be proud of... *confused everyone* :D

I'm using 1.04a... usually i put the new patch over the last one, but this time i had to reinstall ck anyways, so i didn't patch over an old one.

The problem did happen with 1.04a first. Maybe it's just because i din't play specific countries before 1.04, or the problem came with the patch. No idea.

When i'm finished with conquering the world with norway, i'll give spain a second try and post a screenshot, if the problem happens again.

Sorry for beeing kind of mad in my previous posts, but i felt like talking to a wall

There are lots of German speakers on this forum so it might be usefull to post the screenshot even if it's in German.

After posting you can also post a link in the Paradox German Forum which should be enough to catch the attention of Crusader Kings playing German speakers.

By the way does that problem happens in Single Player game or in a MultiPlayer game?

...and if you don't have anywhere to host the screenshots you can send them to me on havard (at) crusader-kings.com (replace the (at) with a @).

This is a very strange screeshot indeed... This shouldn't happen.
