I'm trying to port Modern Day Scenario from DD:Arma to AoD, and I'm constantly stumbling upon a problem with model names and pictures. Here's the thing: Mechanized/Motorized infantry models display properly in game (that means Inf, Cav, Mot and Mech) but not a single tank model (L Arm and Arm) will display as it should. This is how it looks like in a test run, not a single model picture is correct:

I'm also getting similar errors with militia and paratroopers.

Furthermore, the game apparently doesn't recognize model names from the models.csv file, so they all display NOMODEL, as you can see in the picture above. I'm using ranges of 0-15 for L Arm and 7-23 for Arm, and they all worked well in MDS for DD:Arma.

Can anyone help me with this? Does AoD perhaps use a new system for naming models?

Uhm... you are using 7-23 for arm?
...what about 0-6?

You cant just jump over a model..?

I didn't change the model numbering, everything is the same as in MDS for DD:Arma. The model pictures are also numbered the same so there shouldn't be a problem.

I'll try experimenting with model numbers a bit further.

The actual question would be if AoD has correctly enabled modders to add more than 10 models of the same unit-type.

If so, how are the naming fashion for modelnumbers over 9?

It was enabled already for HoI2, but it was just that modelnumber 10 made the game crash if built or enabled through the tech tree. 11 and onwards would function normally, but only if the next unit-type modelnumbers got adjusted too. (So if you had Light_armor 11, the first normal armor model must be "armor 2". )

As such you could not have more than (10 x 'number of unit-types' minus all model 10's) in total, but you could have 15 infantry models, and 3 marine models to compensate.

In general, this was not known in the modding community, and I think MDS2 is the only mod that has more than 10 models of a single type.
