I deleted the error file and opened the game without mods so it comes from the base game.

It is normal for that Invalid supported_version message to show in that log even when Mods are disabled, their files (or at least their file headers) are still read by the game.

I'm not sure if you are saying that those other errors are from mods, even though they are not in use in this galaxy; OR are from mods which were used in this galaxy (whether those mods have since been disabled or not), OR are not from mods at all.

It is common to have cosmetic errors show in the error log, for all games! Or do you think those errors are causing you, or indicating, a problem in some way?

I don't think they cause any problems, however, it's very easy to fix them, and most importantly, they pollute the error log file, which is used by modders to see where there are some. The error log file must be blank when the game starts and not filled with these lines.

I also see the errors for:
"Unexpected token: local_commerce_value_modifier, near line: 85" in file: "common/modifiers/00_egypt_missions.txt" and similar
and the ones for "Unexpected token: state_fort_limit" and "Unexpected token: available_holdings" and "Unexpected token: holdings_possible_for_character"

have no mods installed at all.
 
I wonder if these are actual errors or just reported errors. Like is the holding an actual issue? Sadly we might never know given the development status of the game.

Ah, so you are asking the developers to update the game so it makes no cosmetic log entries in error.log , is that right? Only actual meaningful errors?

If so, you've posted in the wrong place - the devs do not read or monitor this forum. Please make a new thread in Bug Reports, and describe in detail what you want them to do.

Whether they will expend development and patching time on that I have no idea, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

They don't read the forum anymore so I have even less chance of them seeing it.

Seems like at least one of the things refers to a modifier that doesn't exist.

Unlike HOI4 (which I am more familiar with) these unrecognised modifiers don't look like they cause a crash or other major problems affecting playing the game. Though there may be unknown effects on performance or gameplay that aren't easily visible, such as effects on the AI.
