I trust I'm in the right place here, rather than on the EEP forum.

I downloaded EEP 1.1a onto my UK 1.05 version of EU2. However, when I try to run the EEP the 'reading scenario' bar stops just before the end, and then I get the message "couldn't open file: db\events\major_man.txt" Whether I chose Abort, Retry or Ignore, I always get a CTD.

I've tried uninstalling EEP and downloading it again, but it's the same story. The nomal GC seems to working ok, but I'd far rather use the EEP. I had no problems like this before with the earlier version of the EEP.

Thanks!

sorry EEP problems cannot be supported here :(

moving to EEP.

I think that he isn't using the EEP shortcut since someone has said this before.

Well I had the icon on my desktop, as I had no idea there was a problem with it, but I opened EU2 in the normal way via the start menu. I've now deleted the icon, but it makes no difference.

I've also uninstalled EU2 three times now, re-installing patch 1.05 and then EEP 1.1a in turn, but to no effect. I must say though, that even after uninstalling EU2 bits of it still seemed to be left behind on my hard drive, according to the explorer list. I tried deleting the remainder, but got a message that this might be dangerous to the health of my children, or some such.

I really appreciate your help with this, as I love the EEP - it adds a whole new dimension to EU2.

You absolutely have to start the game from the new EEP icon on the desktop, otherwise it wouldn't work.

What do you mean you deleted the icon? Which one? You need to open the game through the EEP icon to be able to play. Can someone show him the EEP icon?

Ok, I misunderstood about the icon - from the first response I thought perhaps the icon was causing the problem somehow, so that's why I deleted it.

Anyway, EEP 1.1a is now happily re-installed, icon and all, and is working a treat now I know to start the game that way only!

Many thanks for your help one and all.
