Hi. I´ve been playing EU2 for quite some time now. I played like mad (dealing with the many, MANY bugs) and am crazy about it. MY QUESTION IS THIS: I started playing again after a year and everything is fine (got the 1.05 patch, etc.) right up to 1453 where the last game I saved (January) is "stuck". You can play it but you CANT SAVE ANY OTHER GAME AFTER THAT. I "cleaned up" my other saved files to see iff reducing the number of saved files would help but NO LUCK!.

Has this ever happened to any of you guys, and if so, WHAT THE F$&# DO I DO NOW?? Its driving me NUTS. ANY information at all about this would be greatly appreciated.

I have never seen that bug.

What is it doing, crashing as soon as you save? Does the autosave work? If you disable/enable autosave, does it change anything?
 
I've had a similar problem, with the game crashing while saving (version 1.04). Starting a new GC seems to have solved the problem.

The crash obviously occured when the game tried to write to the save game file, as a new file was created but has size 0... Is this the case for you as well?
 
I would say you need to defragment your drive more often. Also run Scandisk (or Norton Disk Doctor if you have it), your disk may have errors on it.
