problems with multiplayer

hi,

ive tried to play mutliplayer with a friend of mine ..

be both tried v1.2 and v1.3 .. we tried to play over direct ip and v-net
we both tried with and without firewall .. but had the same error

but the only thing that happens is :

host not found on this ip ..

any ideas ?

Things to check:

Routers (they can open up a whole big can of worms)

Version number (check the 4 letter code to make sure your versions are exactly the same)

Security Software (depending on which one you're running, they can either be no problem at all, or a real nuisance. Hopefully no hardware firewalls, otherwise I don't know if it's even possible to play).

When you get the "No IP found" error it means the connection is being blocked either by a router or a firewall. Make sure you have the correct ports opened on your router (if you have one) and make sure that your firewall has an exception set for HOI2 or better yet turn it off.
