I have recently found an error as soon as I bought and downloaded the Paragons DLC, when I load the game into Borderless Full-screen the game becomes so dim and it strains me to see the basic words, while only Full-screen will work and keep the correct brightness.

I am unaware of why it is doing this, it does give the option for V-synch on full screen, maybe it is that.

Edit: it is fine when running Full-screen but as soon as you tab out and back in bam, the screen is dim like the SS always without fail, and having a second monitor which I do stuff on aswell this is kind of unplayable for me right now.

Please delete everything in the Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ folders except any valued save games, then start a new test galaxy under 3.8.2 - is that any better?

I deleted everything from the documents folder and not touched any folders from Programs.

it didn't seem to have a noticeable effect, maybe the screen is slightly bright but still noticeable difference when I tab out.

when comparing it with before it is better, but still not really workable.

I haven't seen other such reports, yet anyway.

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log .

THEN can you test this on any other computer you might have access to?

all or most of my drivers are up to date, will try it on another's computer when I get the chance, but it was working fine before the new DLC hit. and even completely uninstalling all mods and extra content still has the same effect.

If you revert to the 3.7.x patches in the Steam beta stab for the game do you still get this issue?

[10:11:09][dlc.cpp:337]: Invalid supported_version in file: mod/ugc_2079926133.mod line: 16
Please disable ALL mods while we work on this.

I see several crashes in LightingService.exe which seems to be an ASUS utility that controls screen lighting. Please unload that, or prevent it from running at boot time then reboot. Do you still get this problem?

If so, in the Game Settings menu in our launcher disable Vsync and cap the refresh rate at 60, and leave it at fullScreen. Does that help when you alt-tab out and in?
